Caminante
Esta composición fue realizada en los páramos del volcán Antisana (5.704 metros sobre el nivel del mar) cerca de la ciudad de Quito, capital de Ecuador. El páramo de este volcán que tiene nieves perpetuas debe estar por sobre los 4.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
A pesar de la cercanía de la ciudad (60 km), este lugar ha permanecido prácticamente sin intervención humana. Se puede encontrar abundante fauna silvestre como venados, pumas, zorros, cóndores y otras aves, liebres y truchas en sus muchas lagunas. Es un lugar especialmente bueno para la fotografía de aves, ya que estos páramos sirven de refugio para muchas especies de aves migratorias.
Este es un lugar que recomiendo a los amantes de la naturaleza (y del frío) que buscan un momento de paz y sobrecogimiento. Eso sí, es necesario ir muy abrigado y llevar alimentos y bebidas calóricas.

Hola, la temperatura era menor a los 10 ºC, no podría decir con exactitud, sin embargo, hacía mucho viento y frío.

Wow. I'm so pleased that it's there, and saddened that it's the only refuge left.
