How Are You Spending Your Free Time?

When you get off work, what do you do? Do you watch a lot of TV? Do you play a lot of video games? Or do you have a hobby? I believe many people waste their free time rather than doing something constructive with their lives. Don't get me wrong, I am preaching to the choir. I play way too much GTA. I can't get enough of it. But, I still try to balance some time of my passions into the mix. I enjoy picking up side hobbies and becoming an amateur enthusiast. I also try to engage in my passions. For example, I absolutely love marketing, social media management, public relations, and mass communications.

I try to freelance as much as possible so that I can keep up my skills in these fields. I adamantly believe you should hold three jobs at a time: Day Job, Dream Job, and Backup Job. You should always be practicing the skills in each of these that way your life is always prepared. You can never know when you get fired from your day job and you don't want to be left without an opportunity to fall back on. This should consist of skills that can transition between any field of work you can go into. This could include jobs such as customer support for a community that doesn't demand strong hours of commitment. This could also include writing skills cough cough i.e. writing here on steemit. This could also include being a moderator of forums, chats, or communities. These will allow you to move from whatever your day job is, if the terrible event you were ever to lose your job and cannot easily find one related to your field of expertise, and show potential employers that you have consistently practiced these basic skills. Doing this type of work also allows you to network and grow your influence so that you can make easy transitions into a leadership role over communities and possibly launch a career in personality.

You should also always be working on your next job. If you aren't already working at your dream job, you should still always be doing your dream job. If you are working at your dream job, you should be doing your retirement job. This would entail either freelancing or volunteering. This could also include your hobbies. Say, you enjoy knitting. Then open an etsy shop. Say, you enjoy working on vehicles, you can do side fix up gigs with friends and mutual friends. Say, you like medicine. Volunteer at emergency centers. Do first aid work there. This means when you are prepared to leave your current job, you will have a record of work that shows you are experienced in such a field.

Finally, what if none of the above applies to you? What if all you like to do is watch TV and play video games. You can still be working on your retirement job doing these things. Start a podcast or start blogging reviews of the entertainment you consume. Start posting gameplays of yourself online and start monetizing the content you provide. We are transitioning into a new era where everything you do is slowly being considered work. Therefore, you will always have the opportunity to be compensated for this work. I mean, Vlogging is a profitable thing nowadays. Thanks to the power of blockchain, you can slowly monetize every aspect of your life and possibly make a living doing it. So, again, what do you have to lose? Start working multiple jobs. This doesn't mean overworking yourself. This doesn't mean adding extra work hours in the week to what you currently do. This just means start developing the skills you enjoy and slowly monetizing your activities. You don't need to make commitments if all you are doing is leisurely engaging in passions.

Music 🎶
I spend my free time on my music 🎶...come to think of it, there seem to be no free time. There's never enough if one ☝🏿 is busy building his dreams

Thanks! I music reviews are amazing. Especially if you can delve into the history and culture of an artist. For example, I could rave on about DJ Screw for hours.

Feel free to swing by anytime bud!
