The difference between where you are now and where you'll be in years to come is measured by **TIME **

Time has different meaning to different people. To the physicist, time is measured in seconds which eventually translates to minutes, hours, weeks, months and years. To the business man, time is measured in monetary value because every minute invested in a business yield money results. The difference between a maize seed and a maize plant is time. Time of sowing, to time of germination, growth and harvest.

Time is a factor used to measure human changes. With time you can tell the difference between what is happening now in comparison with what has happened in the past. That is to say that time is a reference point; a measure of performance or our progress over the years.

Sometimes it may seem that there isn't enough time to do everything that you need to. This can result in a build up of stress. Once we have identified ways in which we can improve the management of our time, we can begin to adjust our routines and patterns of behaviour to reduce any time-related stress in our lives.

The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot – Michael Altshuler

Time is a valuable commodity. Everyone has been given equal amount but it is limited in supply. It is therefore important that time be managed because time lost cannot be recovered. Whatever we've turned out to be today is a function of what we've been doing over the years with our time and what we're going to become in the future is depends on what we're doing right now with our time.

Time just like currency can be spent, wasted or invested. You can take charge of your life by managing your time.

**How Should We Manage Time? **

  1. Planning. Time management begins with planning. It is important that we have a plan for everyday. We tend to procrastinate when we don't have a plan.
It is when you have a plan that you'll know what to do, when to do it and how it should be done.

  2. Prioritizing. There's so much to be done but because time is limited, we may not be able to do everything. It is therefore important that we prioritize our activities in order of priority or scale of preference so we could achieve our goals within a specified time frame. Prioritize to help you focus on urgent and important tasks rather than those that are not important or geared towards achieving our goals.

  3. Allocation. It is very important that we allot specific amount of time to our activities. By so doing, we're able to spread out our time around our activities. That way, we'll be able to keep track of what was left undone and where we left off the previous day.

  4. Avoid procrastination. The best time to do a something is NOW. Never put of for tomorrow what you can do today. A lot of people spend time but on unimportant things. Efficiency and effectiveness are not same. Research has shown that taking action generates impetus for other actions. Organize your work to meet deadlines.

  5. Perseverance. Persevering when things are not working out. Develop strategies for dealing with pressure such as regular exercises. Take a positive attitude towards failure when things happen not to go as planned. This would help you learn from your mistakes.

As a young person, not everything you do now will count in your future. Not everything that counts now can be counted.

Choose to Invest your time in the right activities, with the right people and with the things that drive your passion. The future of your dreams is possible.

Every human lives within the perimeter of time, life is timely and no man needs more than 24hrs of time. Its either you invest on time, manage time or waste it. The choice is yours. Good write up Joyce

Well thought-out points @Kingsleymond.

I repeat, ' avoid procrastination'

Absolutely Right. It used to be a challenge for me but then I found out that much more effort is required to do what I would have without stress. Working on being a better me.

That is such a nice information about time management and all those points mentioned about planning, prioritizing and other points are very much important in this busy life.
