Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) es un periodista que sigue hasta las últimas consecuencias en su trabajo, se entera de una organización llamada “Life Foundation” dirigida por Cartoon Drake ellos han encontrado un organismo proveniente del espacio conocido como simbionte Cartoon Lo usara en varias personas para ver si este puede elevar las capacidades de los humanos y probar que tan controlable es sin embargo el simbionte es bastante corruptivo e inestable
En un intento por obtener una gran artículo en el periódico Eddie Bronk intenta colarse en las oficinas de Life Foundation y queda impregnado con el simbionte, comienza una persecución de por la captura del simbionte y a mitad de ella el simbionte se une completamente a Eddie y se da el nacimiento de VENOM.
