Emphasizing the importance of decentralized networks - Using the Reggaesteem tribe as an example

in #jahm5 years ago

Recently I did a publication about Sketch Carey, specifically the song he did with the renowned Jah Cure, in which @dmilliz made a comment about him, was specifically the following:

” Nice finds Jose ! I didn’t know about Sketch Carey. He hit a marketable product. Very smooth tunes. Jah cure never disappoints, can be a bit arrogant but it’s his style.”,

And I said to myself: it's true, very probably if this artist had been in legal trouble for some reason he would surely have achieved greater recognition, since the media would be in charge of highlighting that part, but at the same time his career would have been on the rise.

Jah Cure's musical recognition is evident, but it is also well known and sounded the legal problems he has gone through, which I very much agree does not detract from his musical merit, and his evident talent to reach a large part of the affections of Dancehall and Reggae. However, there are those for whom all legal problems can make it look bad, as in everything, there are always people for and against, I am not the one to judge anyone, I prefer to focus on the good of everyone.

In the case of Sketch Carey, until now free of legal problems, with a constant musical career for years, however has not managed to have such an impact on the music industry.

I want to clarify, not with this I am saying that artists become famous thanks to the media catapulting them for illegal acts, because if there is no talent, they will hardly be recognized, but certainly behind every artist (as in all human beings) there is a sum of efforts and talents that collaborate with their success.

To have a good musical producer, someone who writes good lyrics, the musical composer is also indispensable, but this is practically useless if it is not shown through the media (radio, television, newspapers, etc.).), because of things of history, all are centralized, luckily and as a response to this history that favors a few (generally) have emerged these decentralized networks, as Steemit, and a tribe like Reggaeesteem that allows global recognition to artists (artisans, musicians, singers, natural products companies, among an infinity of options) local, it makes them known practically all over the world without a centralized interference that says this or this not, it is simply exposed and that each one decides what he wants, this is one of the things that seems to me genial of the decentralization of the networks, of the use of the Criptomonedas, of the blockchain, I feel and think that we are little by little more directed to the massive use of these.

In the following image of my authorship can evidence the acceptance of BTC as a form of payment in a bar in Bogota, for example:

For example, the recent post by @dmilliz in which she talks about a woman, a talent from Jamaica and how she brings her culture to the world through her different creations Lee-Ann Haslam of LeeCreates ( Organic Skin Care Products and Reggae Art on Glass).

Or the following publication by the friend @ganjactivist, Ganjamaica Cup- Showcasing the Best of Jamaican Ganja in which it shows and promotes some activities that will take place between 20 and 22 December. Sure, this kind of promotion in centralized media could be very expensive, but in this platform how much does it cost?, nothing, rather it has an economic retribution in the form of steem, jahm, and other tokens for this publication.

Probably it is this reality of decentralization that has caused many influencers to migrate the presentation of their productions to networks and/or platforms based on Steemit's blockchain such as dtube or 3speak in which thematic limitations are not as restricted as in other centralized ones.

This is simply a reflection, a personal vision, that part of the comment referred to the beginning of this publication, a vision with which you may or may not agree, is in its full right, I do not believe I am offending anyone with this approach (or at least it is not my intention).

However, I wanted to share it.

Waiting for your opinion in the comment box, I say goodbye.

I take this opportunity to leave the Youtube channel of Sketch Carey, for you to have a look, and I also leave another video of this artist to collaborate with his promotion:

I invite you to follow the tribe

Great post. You're right about that. Steem is a great place for artists to advertise their work, without paying anything for it. The ReggaeSteem Tribe is doing a wonderful job at that!

I think this post is very undervalued, so I've featured it in My entry to the Pay It Forward Curation Contest - Week 89.

upvoted i found you through trincowski and the payitforward contest gopod luck on your journey here

My friend @trinkoeski has been a blessing by mentioning me in his contest.
Thank you very much for the support @brittandjosie

Honestly I think that artists are one of the niche markets that can benefit the most from Steem if we get SMTs running. Steemit as a whole may not like to reward them properly and instead a massive amount of the voting power goes in a big circle between the top stake holders all talking about Steem...we don't need more steem content...seriously enough rewarding it already. But with communities like ReggaeSteem and others there can be a home for niche content that can thrive, places where the whales will be other like minded people.

Grateful for your comment @pifc
and for creating this dynamic, which has benefited many.
I think with the SMT the benefit will be global, I hope.

Reggaesteem is moving forward, little by little, I think it's a tribe that already has a road map for when the SMT gets going, and it will be very beneficial and in turn the artists too, in the future we'll see what the crypto world has in store for steemit, steem, sbd... and us with it.

Hola @hojaraskita

Muchas Gracias por tu visita.
SEGURO TE VISITO 😉

More and more, I think that musicians and artists in general need to decentralize. I think it's the only way to break out of the main stream, which is polluted with untalented people who are just lucky to get supported. Thanks for drawing our attention to this.

I found you because @trincowski featured you in the Pay it Forward Curation Contest. Keep up the great work!
