Upcoming Volkswagen Safety recall

Volkswagen of America Informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Transport Canada about an upcoming Safety recall involving 2006-2010 MY Passat/Passat Wagon & 2009-2016 MY CC

The problem:
There could be an interruption in electrical power to the fuel pump control module. This could result in the fuel pump running continuously, resulting in a drained battery and/or a no start condition, or cause a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

Corrective action:
Customers will need to take the affected vehicle to authorized Volkswagen dealers to replace the fuel pump control module and relocate it within the vehicle.

Note: At the time of writing this post, the repair is not yet available, owners of affected vehicles will receive mail notification when the repair is available.

If you want to know if your car is affected by the safety recall, check the NHTSA, Transport Canada websites or call your nearest Volkswagen Dealer, ask for the Service Department and provide them with the complete VIN number of your car.

Remember that Safety recalls are completed at no charge to you.
