BE CAREFUL WITH SCAMMERS! (#club100)

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago (edited)

Hi friends!

I have the tendency to naively believe that our platform (Steemit) is exempt from the evils and perversions of our real society and I forget that it is composed of real people, behind an avatar or a nickname.
Fortunately, my experience has shown me that there are valuable, interesting, honest and altruistic people here, which makes me very happy and I would like it to always be like that.
However, today I met some newcomers who leave a link in the comments of some of our publications. It caught my attention that in the comment they did not refer to the published issue, but they talked about how to earn money easily and in a short time, so obviously I assumed that it should be a scam.
Then, in other publications, again the same type of comment for what I decided to investigate.

These are the ones I have seen, I imagine there must be many more. As you can see, they are newcomers to the platform, they may be several people or one person with different accounts, I do not know.
The fact is that I checked the link that they post and it turns out that in one case the link "https://todayfox7.blogspot.com/" takes you to "https://www.profitguru7.com/" in the other case, the link "https://www.profitguru7.com/" effectively leads you to the described page.
On this page, they talk about how a woman earns life very well working from home through "Home Profit System". As I expected, that is an illegal page, so I suggest not trying to join it since it is a scam.

My goal is to make you notice the arrival of these comments so that you be careful, I also ask myself and ask you too if there will be, in the first place, a way to verify the accounts of these users. Secondly, if the bad intention of these people is verified: will it be possible to block them in some way? or permanently point them out as users from which to distrust?

I hope that this attention call is useful to you and prevents you from being victims of some scam.
I'll be waiting for your comments and advice about how we can struggle against these undesirable participants.

And, if I am wrong, please let me know it.

Greetings!

Thank you for your post and for letting the people know about such scammer trick. I noticed that under my post, obviously it is spreading around. I think the accounts maybe not newcomer, but might be one of the old account who created few new once and use it for such scam.

Like you mentioned I was surprised or shocked to see how much scams are in Instagram. @myskye is dealing with Instagram account and he is very good in detecting who is scammer.

I believe when hearing such comment where it offers to earn money with little effort that often makes people curious and even if we have a feeling that it can not be right but there always will be people who would be caught.

I do not know how the Steemit team fights this spam.
I can only add that you can't even click on the suggested links. It can be not only spam, but also an attempt to rob you or infect you with a virus for the same purpose.

If you are offered or promised something... free cheese only happens in a mousetrap.
