China will build a "mini moon"

China has announced that they are going to build a mini moon, where they plan to cancel Earth's gravity and thus approve various experiments with simulated lunar gravity. This lunar simulator will be in the city of Xuzhou and will be the first of its kind in the world.

It will consist of a vacuum chamber of about 60 centimeters in diameter, on the moon there is no atmosphere and to simulate the vacuum that is not there, it will almost be the easiest, the complicated and novel thing is the method with which it intends to simulate the low lunar gravity which is one sixth of Earth's gravity.

The plan is that in that chamber a landscape with dust and rocks similar to those that would be found on the moon is reproduced, but subjected to an intense magnetic field that would make them, in quotes, levitate, levitate enough to counteract the effect of gravity. terrestrial and thus simulate a gravity similar to that found on the moon.

Once this is achieved, the behavior can be experienced with different materials and even with living beings because if living beings, including humans, could levitate if we are subjected to an adequate magnetic field.

This was demonstrated by a scientist of Russian origin, Andréi Gueim, managing to levitate frogs, which sounds strange, but beware, because Gueim won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010 for his work on Graphene and his work on levitation have inspired Chinese scientists who they are going to build the lunar simulation.

Something even more interesting about the Chinese installation project is that the low gravity effect can last as long as you want, unlike what happens, for example, in free fall towers or in parabolic flights where you can also get an effect of nullification of gravity but in these cases the effect lasts only a few minutes at most.

This simulated moon is a new step for China on its way to reach the moon where they plan to send humans in the year 2030 and establish a joint lunar research base with Russia.
