I used layers for the background sky and adjusted the contrast, saturation and colors. I took this photo at Folsom Lake mid day the sun was out and yep got a little sun burned haha. That's how you know you haven't been out in the sun in a while.
I used a method to separate the lefts and branches from the old sky and make the back ground transparent. The next problem was the color dis coloration, in this one it was purple with blue so I had used hue and selection that color range then change it but it sometimes add artifacts in and messes up the photos over all look. I tried to use color replacement but it doesn't give me a range to use so i try to select the areas that i need to change and try to exchange the colors or make it transparent. As an artist it's never one size fits all, you have to try different tools and methods until one works the way you like.
