Re-introducing Myself Because ..

I'm doing this re-introduction because I'm confused. Again. Before I started in Steemit, I read in a couple of places that the introduction post usually did pretty well. Mine didn't even do close to well. It didn't even make it to $1. I was going to go back and look, but it takes too long to get there since I've done so many posts. We need a search bar in the blog section.
I'll be taking a different approach to this introduction anyway. Maybe it will result in more attention.

I am a Yankee by birth, born in Connecticut. However, I do not claim that status and consider myself a transplanted Texan. Connecticut is a nice place to visit, but I have no desire to live there. Most of my relatives, including a good number that used to live in Connecticut, live in Texas.
I graduated high school in 1976 and joined the US Air Force that same year, in July. After basic training at Lackland AFB TX and technical school at Keesler AFB MS, I was assigned to Webb AFB TX. After being there only 9 months, I was re-assigned to Kelly AFB TX. Webb AFB was closing down and most everyone got assignments to leave.
Kelly AFB was an excellent assignment and is also where I met my future wife. I actually wrote out the whole story as to how I met my wife. You can read it here if you desire: https://gosteem.com/philippines/@johnwjr7/meeting-and-marrying-my-wife. There are some very interesting events that occur so it is worth reading. My wife and I were married in April 1980 and are still married.
After Kelly AFB, we (now married) went to our new assignment at Barksdale AFB LA. It was the first place that my wife has ever seen snow. She made her first, and only, snow angel. She no longer likes snow. After about 1 1/2 years at this base we moved on to Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan. This turned out to be our favorite assignment. A wonderful base, assigned with (mostly) wonderful people. After that 3 year tour, it was back to Texas at Bergstrom AFB in Austin (now closed down).
My next assignment was a remote assignment. It was at Shemya AFB AK. I really liked it there also, except for the fact my wife was not with me. I know that if I would have been single, I would have extended at this base, even though it snowed a lot and was freezing (and I don't like cold). I did lose a lot of weight while there.
After that remote assignment, it was back to Kadena AB in Okinawa. This turned into our 2nd favorite assignment. It was in a different squadron, on the other side of the base, but still a good assignment. It also turned into our last assignment. Yes, after this assignment, I retired from the US Air Force.
Back in the civilian world, unable to get a civil service job, I got a temporary job work at Perry Office Products doing deliverys. It was an okay job, but not really another career choice. I then got a job working at People's National Bank in my hometown as a computer operator. I worked the night shift and was the only person in the bank at night time. FYI, I did have to call them a couple of times to let them know they left the vault open.
During this time is when I learned that my sister needed a kidney. I volunteered. I have a story about that also. I can repost that story if you have not gotten to read it. I have also written some poems about this and my dad wrote a poem back in 1995 when it first happened.
After the bank, I started working at Cypress Semiconductor in Round Rock TX. It was a good job and I enjoyed most of it. In 2008 they were in the process of closing that place down too, so everyone was laid off, with a nice compensation.
A little over 1 1/2 years after that, I still was unable to find a job, and I was so tired of living on unemployment. I mean it's the first time I've ever had to do that. So we decided to just sell everything and move to the Philippines.
That's were we are now. We have been here since May 2010 and unless our financial situation changes, I don't see us moving from here. Of course if we do move anywhere, I think it will be back to Texas.
I love being on my computer and maybe I'm on it too much. I need to exercise more. I've been working on getting motivated enough for years. I know if I ever do, I stay with it until something unforeseen interrupts the cycle.
My favorite actor is John Wayne. My favorite singer is Hank Williams Jr. I like to write poety (but I'm not great at it). I try to write songs, but I can only do the lyrics unless I learn how to write music and/or play an instrument.
This Steemit has come into my life and I am obessed with it. I want to do so good, but I always seem to be just a little bit out of sync. I'll keep trying and hopefully it will be the answer to get us back to Texas, or at least get us a vacation where we don't have to worry about finances the whole time we are on the vacation.
If you want to know more about Steem, please ask me. I'll let you know what I know and can direct you to some places to help you out. Steem on Everyone.

I feel the same thing before my first post didn't reach one dollar but with hard work and perseverance I win myself and I prove it that I can do it though there are some sleepless nights thinking a perfect blog and topic to discuss. I upvote this post since I know you deserve one so never lose hope just do a little twist and approach to your next blog. =)

I keep thinking of something, anything that might peak the interest of people, but nothing that seems to work yet. Will keep thinking and trying new things.

keep doing your best John, and when life brings you and your beautiful wife in Texas remember us your steemians followers :)

I'm sure that I will always remember my Steemit family. I plan to be around for a very long time, Steeming away.

You should include a photo holding your username to confirm identity also, I see you don’t have a Steemit Profile Picture I made a contest post to make it simple to do just scroll down Here

Got it. Thank you for that. I better save it in case someone else needs it. It worked for the cover picture too. Outstanding!

thats what the resteem is for

Thanks for using POCKET! I am small bot and I am running this confirming code.

What is this? What did it do? Am I suppose to be doing something on this?

Not sure, but maybe you can now afford to pay for half that futon I bought!

Was I supposed to be? I am going to look into this "pocketsend" to see what it is.
