There is no single formula to selling out your shows, but I have proven methods that have worked for me

I have been playing on the stage for over 10 years, including many sold out venues. I am no rockstar so my audiences ranged from 400-1200 people in the crowds. I could swing that maybe once a month, if not once every two months, and the payout would range from $500-$7000. So it was 100% worth it for me.

I feel as though there is misconceptions about the music industry and I plan to help clear those things up for you.

A ton of musicians believe they should put the job of bringing people to shows into the hands of a promoter. This pisses me off. YOU ARE FUCKING LAZY .... If you put your duties in the hands of anyone else BUT yourself, you risk losing because of their faults. I take responsibility for my own crowds and it works out in my favor in multiple ways. A promoter usually is just trying to get paid... they WILL rip you off if they can. This is why I organize my own shows. It takes away the aspect of being cheated by a promoter away, but adds a ton of responsibility for you. I can see how that direction might not be the most appealing because your a lazy piece of shit, but trust me it will help you a ton. Either way, these methods will help you out.

Hit the street.

It is quite unconventional to think about "footwork" in the music industry....By footwork I mean getting out there and ACTUALLY meeting new people. It really is that simple. You need to go out to shows and meet the audiences at those shows. The people who will come to YOUR shows are already OUT AT SHOWS NOW. So you need to go out there and meet them.

Stop Spamming.

Its not about selling tickets to them... It is about making friends. Your number 1 supporters when you are first starting out as an artist will be friends and family.. What is a better way of adding people to your shows than making more friends?
When online, for example facebook or twitter, stop spamming your music on the feed....and for the love of god DO NOT send messages saying things like "Check out my shitty soundcloud".... You are basically just going to annoy people ... most people just dont care. You have to create a reason to turn their heads in to your direction.. You cannot force that.. it needs to be natural. Blasting people in facebook groups or in messages never works. It might give you short term gains, but it will only piss off a majority of people and they will leave you on read.

Running Ads

The shows should be organized in a way that makes them seem exciting. Maybe contests and giveaways? Maybe a special on those who buy early. Things like this will help bring excitiement to the show. If you plan to run ads make sure you are using the FACEBOOK BUSINESS MANAGER, NOT THE BOOST POST FUNCTION ON FACEBOOK...... The business manager gives you access to ads on Facebook and instagram like no other place. The details that you can target are unbelievable. You can target so specifically for example you can target people from within 5 miles of you, who listen to Katy Perry, and like Subway. It helps a lot to target your audience very specifically this way you get the most bang for your buck when it comes to ads.

Follow these simple rules and you will have a MUCH better chance at selling out your shows.
