We all see those transactions in our wallet from some bot service.

It is usually always the same message and it goes something like this:

✅ Promote your post with @superpromoter. 📈 Send 1 SBD or STEEM with URL in memo to @superpromoter to resteem your post to thousands of followers and get instant upvotes.

You get some curiosity because we all know upvotes =$ ..I decided I wanted to see if this service actually did justice in terms of a "business investment" of sorts. Is this a good way to profit? is this a good way maybe even to market my posts to a larger audience? . I ran a test by basically using ANY resteem service that came into my transactions as promotion. I used it on all sorts of posts. Some were more profound posts that I took great time in creating. Others were just memes. I wanted different sorts of posts for my experiment. What was that experiment?

Are Resteem bots worth it?

Clearly the answer is no, but in order to prove that theory I tested a handful of them to see if I could even get my money back in investments... To simply break even. Most bid bots have me break even but instead of giving me back only SBD, I also get some Steem power as an even trade. So the bid bots are not completely useless. They are basically a trade system for SBD to SP.... but the noble person might want to use a resteem service as a way to promote without faking it. Even though most of these resteem services do offer guaranteed upvotes, it feels sneaky. As though we are being lied to.
I decided to test my theory in real time for you with the bot @haji:

Only having to pay 1 Steem or SBD and reviving up to 20 SBD and 500 upvotes!!! Wow, I thought to myself, this seems too good to be true. haha. Little did I know.
I sent my SBD and my post in the memo and waited to see what happens. Shortly later I recieved a TON of minnow votes in a row. They all came in within 5 mins of each other. It looked like it might work... After waiting a day I went back and this is the results of the test:

So not only did I not make my money back by a long shot... but they did not really deliver me anything of value. About 80 upvotes worth maybe $0.30SBD in value.... They resteemed it to their obviously inactive audience and I am left in the hole not making any money or really gaining anything of value out of the transaction.
I conducted this test many times with many different types of posts with many different types of tags. The fact of the matter is that these resteem services are designed to rip you off. They are designed to basically hoax you into thinking they are helping you out, but in reality they are using a curation trail with little to no value and just taking money from people. This was the results for EVERY SINGLE resteem bot that I tested. EVERY SINGLE BOT HAD ZERO VALUE. So to all the minnows, dolphins, and whales out there using these services, stop now because you are only feeding a greed monster. In the end....

Resteem bots are a ripoff. Avoid them at all costs!
