The Golden Gate is a strait connecting the Pacific with the Bay of San Francisco. It got its name in the time of the big gold rush around 1848.
The bridge was opened for use in 1937. When the bridge was finished, it was the longest bridge in the world with a length of 2824m.
Das Golden Gate (goldenes Tor) ist eine Meerenge, die den Pazifik mit der Bucht von San Francisco verbindet. Es hat seinen Namen aus der Zeit des großen Goldrausches um 1848.
Die Brücke wurde 1937 für den Gebrauch geöffnet. Als die Brücke fertig war, war sie die längste Brücke der Welt mit einer Länge von 2824m.
