The search for the best fried chicken sandwich.

There a lot of good things in life. I don't think anyone can argue that as you search through the various phases of existence you will encounter multiple different objects of desire.

Some people might desire a mate.

Some people might desire a soothing drink after a long day of work.

For me.... my current desire is for the best fried chicken sandwich around.

Now we make a pretty good fried chicken sandwich at my restaurant but as far as I'm concerned the $15 we charge for it is really out of line with the idea of getting a good price for your lunch.

In order for a fried chicken sandwich to be good by my definition, it also has to be priced reasonably so that I can afford to buy it multiple times a week if I'm in a fried chicken sandwich mood.

There are a lot of different options when it comes to getting a fried chicken sandwich.

You can head down to look at McDonalds. They've got their standard McChicken which is pretty terrible, because it tastes like a frozen lunch patty.... but then they've also got a Classic chicken sandwich. This classic chicken sandwich is $3 and it appears to be a take on the Chick-fil-A sandwich. It's not nearly as good as the Chick-fil-A Sandwich though.

You can head over to Chick-fil-A. Their fried chicken sandwiches are pretty good. You've got several options including one that comes with Colby jack cheese. I really like that one, but I have to say I get bored eating their sandwiches with waffle fries all the time. To be honest they're not really all they're cracked up to be. I'd say their sandwiches are good, but I don't think they're the best fried chicken sandwiches around.

If you like fried chicken you probably enjoy Popeye's Chicken. I love Popeye's Chicken. I'm not particularly fond of their chicken Po boy sandwich though. It just tastes like hard bread with a reasonable piece of Frozen Fried Chicken in it. It's not the best sandwich ever, but it's not too bad. On the other hand, their Loaded Chicken Wrap is absolutely delicious. It doesn't qualify as a sandwich though.

Church's Chicken used to be my go to chicken place. On Fridays after leaving work I would pick up a 12 pack of Church's Chicken and a 12 pack of beer. It's a great combination. I haven't done that in a while though. The Church's Chicken around me unfortunately is always full of smoke now. I'm really not sure why but it makes it not fun to go in there. I've seen a fried chicken sandwich on their menu but I've never actually ordered it. It looks pretty boring though.

I used to go to Burger King a lot but I haven't been in a while. The last time I went to Burger King I got a really bad case of food poisoning. I've talked to several people that have also gotten food poisoning from Burger King and so I never actually went back. I haven't eaten at Burger King in about 10 years. I used to really enjoy their chicken sandwich though. It was really long piece of chicken on a long hoagie roll. I remember thinking it was delicious back then, but I remember that food poisoning also and I don't think I'll be visiting them again for a while even though it might be unfair.

I actually went to go to Kentucky Fried Chicken. They have a 2 for $3 Chicken Little deal. There are these little chicken sandwiches that used to be called something else. I can't remember what they were called back in the day, but now they are Chicken Littles. The cool thing is that you actually have four to choose from.

I got an original one and a spicy one. I didn't want any mayonnaise and they were just fine without it. I also got a small thing of potato wedges and my total was just over $4. A pretty good deal because I actually did get filled up. I wasn't bursting at the seams, but I'd say right now this is probably the best deal going for a fried chicken sandwich.

Still, the search for the best fried chicken sandwich is not over. I will continue to update you on the results of this search.
