A New Steemit User Profile Interface Suggestion

Preface

I have been on Steemit for the past 1 and a half month. It took me a while to get used to the environment and streamlining my content, followers and rewards. I had a target in mind right from the beginning that I will make good connections here on steemit and this involves getting to know people, remembering them and their basic information.

However, once I got hold of my steemit account, there was a major concern that I faced (I still do by the way). The problem was that I could not keep up with my followers' biodata and soon when a lot of people started to follow me, I lost track of them (well, most of them).

I always had a vision about making steemit user profiling system better ever since I joined this esteemed community. The utopian.io has provided the opportunity for me to do that. Foregone in view, I hereby propose few changes in proceeding paragraphs regarding steemit users' profiles and I request the developers to kindly consider these changes for addition in steemit platform.

User Profile Interface

The foremost problem I see in that area is that almost 90% of the users use either an alias or a nickname as their account names (including myself).

Even though most of them tend to tell the details about them in their introduction posts but after 100 days of blogging activity on steemit, who would have the stamina to go all the way back to the introduction post of a fellow Steemian to find out general details about them? The current steemit profile system does not offer the details of a Steemian.

The changes i want to talk about reside in the highlighted area. Its a bit cluttered for my taste and quite frankly doesn't present the details of a user the way it should.

Here is my proposal on how Steemit user profile should look like.

The suggested profile design has dropped "Wallet" and "Settings" from that grey coloured blog bar (i don't know what to call it) and has been included in main profile picture area.

Now once the "Account Details" option is tapped or clicked, it will open a window on the side displaying necessary details of a fellow steemian:-

Own account will have an "Edit" button on right bottom to make changes to the account details

Please note that personal details of fellow steemian @ilyastarar has not been included on purpose because I do not want to put his information out there without his consent.

The option "Account Details" can show the details of a user from which their biodata can be accessible to all the steemians. Of course, users will have the option not to dish out details they don't want to.

Wallet and Settings Windows

The current "Wallet" and "Settings" details are fine and can be incorporated in the suggested location of "Wallet" and "Settings" options.

What will happen to Cover Image?

I personally believe that cover image should not be there at all. It doesn't go well within the area allocated for profile details anyway.

Besides if anyone has noticed, your cover image has different views when you switch between different devices and screen resolutions. However, if it is still necessary, I am sure the good developers team of steemit can still accommodate a cover image on this design

This is my first open source contribution. I am hoping that steemit devs and steemit community would like this suggestion and would try to inculcate the user information in steemit platform.

Steemit is a wonderful place to be and this update will add a personal touch to the entire steemit experience. After all, we are all here to connect and grow.
