Framing the Moon - Actifit Report: April 7 2020

Tonight we walked just as the Super Pink Moon was coming out. It didn’t look very pink to me. And my phone does not take great pictures of the moon — especially a bright white moon in a dark sky. But I did find that I could at least capture its glow without too much glare if it was surrounded by trees and objects. Which it was! I don’t think I could even have gotten a clear shot. Let’s see what I captured!

Oh wait — first there are the pictures I took before we saw the moon. It was still pretty light out. First up: someone’s Christmas reindeer. We like our Christmas decor here in Minnesota, but we are sometime a little too lazy to take it down.

Next, a pair of ducks crossing the road.

Someone’s snow marker. We put these up so the plows can see the edges of roads and driveways. As you can see, the plows have had their way with the marker.

Here’s a sign for a children’s play park. Someone had the clever idea to give the sign children hats!

Okay now for my moon pictures. I hope I have not built up anticipation unduly! The moon is the little white speck — in this case just lower and to the right of the treehouse.

And there it is lurking just beyond the windmill.

And another picture in which it shares the stage with some Christmas lights. (See previous comment!) Hey in this one you csn actually see a pink glow!

And more Christmas color, still bright and well in April.

Finally it was nearly dark, and I took one more picture of a house decorated in lights. Again, we don't rush to put away Christmas here!
