For a year and two months now, I've been pumped on Steem and it gets me excited no matter what Situation Steem is into. Currently, it's value is decreasing and series of doubts, fears, questions and worries arise as to how will the future of the platform shapes the future of social media. Steemit is a platform that rewards **content creators** by a cryptocurrency called Steem. Your posts are rewarded by the community, the more upvotes you received the greater value your post is. Technically, the value of votes depends on the amount of vest a user has (Steem Power). The more stake you have, the bigger the influence (value) you impact to the post.

I've been an active promoter of Steemit because I see the potential of it as a revolutionary platform for Social Media especially for us students. I promote the platform by giving orientations to interested people discussing the concept of what Steemit is all about. Not only that, I also provide free Steemit Shirts, pins, flyers, and plackards to the participants (thanks to sponsorship of @donkeypong). I tried to impart my knowledge about the concept of Steemit and its relation to cryptocurrencies. I'm glad they got hooked and started earning just the way as I did. The expansion continues as they were also sharing the opportunity to their family, friends and even relatives. I think that's the reason why we had so much Steemit activity here in our Cebu community. We've been pumped by the idea of having a platform that lets us earn from the contents that we share. Especially when Steem Dollars and Steem pumped, it created a noise to the community and traffic. Everyone earned

But not all the times Steem's economy is high. Just when everyone thought it will be constant glorious days from day to night, earning by just with the idea of blogging. Post there and post anything on their blogs without tickling to understand how really the platform works. If asked, "What is Steemit?" , "Where does the money come from", "What is Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power", even though those things were discussed - they seem not interested to dig in on technical details.

Why I think It's Cleansing Period?

I witnessed a lot of members in the community leaving the platform or not being active anymore or keeping silent anymore from the enthusiasm they had before. I've noticed promising content creators , bloggers , and vloggers leaving the platform. It pains me because they seem not to be appreciated or what about they just don't understand Steemit relies on Steem as a currency?

• Post Earnings

They noticed a difference on their post values from the content they create before. If we assume the votes were of the same vesting and voting power given on their posts, you will really see a big difference in terms of checking its value. The value of our posts depends on two things : "The value of Steem as a currency (in $)" and the "Amount of Steem Power (and Voting Weight) the users who upvoted your posts. The main thing is the value of Steem as a currency. It's a bit technical and I can totally understand if others don't want to deal with it.

• Unconstant Support

As an advocate of Steemit to the community, what follows after orientations is helping them generate their post --> "On their early stages". The support they get from community mentors and curation groups will not always be there. The thing that they missed out, they seem to stick in a community as if it only circles their Steemit world. No no no. Communities (or sub communities) are only incubators that helps them in early stages, engaging for self growth and knowledge. The real opportunity (and income) is outside of it. There's way a lot of opportunities that are currently existing - from dApps, to Contests, to Groups, to Projects and many more that helps you get incentivized.

• Users who just want to ride the hype

Since its a trend and it gives them earnings, they also want to take advantage of it. These users wanted to earn without having some sweat to understand its nature. They don't really value the platform, they just want to ride as it goes to the moon and since it's going down, they left. I think the current price of Steem is a great cleansing.

• The real users who sees the value Stay

I still have a lot of friends who chose to stay because they see the potential of it. They have understood the platform and that the nature of how it works. It's all about a journey to make and be part of series of initiatives Steemit has. They've been part of great projects like Utopian, Steemhunt, Steempress, @sndbox, and way lot more projects that lets them get rewarded. They surely are the ones who knows the true meaning of surviving in Steemit.

Whats with many when few only understands? Just when everything gets shaky, they also fail to see why it gets like that. With the little, I believe the new generation that will come gets handy now. They will surely understand. Plus, we're all waiting for that bullish run!
