Mcgregor Vs Mayweather, was it staged?
The only fight that everyone in the world has been talking about for the last several weeks took place last night in Las Vegas, USA. If you haven't been living under a rock you would have seen a lot of the promotion and trash talking going on in the last few weeks between Connor Mcgregor and Floyd Mayweather. Last night we finally saw the end of all the trash talking as the event was watched by thousands in attendance and millions more around the world watching on Pay Per View.
The Result
After an interesting first few rounds, with Mcgregor showing poise and landing some punches, Mayweather did what he does best, he started to pick apart Mcgregor, punch by punch until the referee called the fight midway through round 10, awarding Mayweather the victory and improving his professional boxing career to 50-0.
Analysis
In my opinion both these fighters came out victorious. Firstly Mcgregor was able to go toe to toe with arguably one of the best boxers to ever step in the ring, he crossed over sports and made the fight a great spectacle that everyone was hoping for. He also made AT LEAST 30 Million dollars for the fight, just an average days work, right?!?! Mcgregor doesn't lose any of his UFC belts and he gives the UFC a lot of promotion.
Mayweather caps off a perfect career, going a spotless 50-0. He keeps the sport of boxing above water (because if he had lost, boxing would've been officially dead). As the main attraction Mayweather takes home a MINIMUM of $100 million for his efforts. He showed that even at 40 years of age he is still a dominant fighter and in a class of his own. Maybe now he can afford to pay the taxman.
So it was a victory for all parties involved. I would love to see how much money this event grossed worldwide, I can only imagine the astronomical number.
I am just happy that the nonsense that surrounded the promotion of the fight is now over and we won't be seeing Connor Mcgregor hop over into other sports... or maybe he will

Hmmm.. I thought it was odd that McGregor was crossing over into boxing...
I also agree that if Mayweather had lost, it would have been all over for boxing, but if not, it should have done had McGregor won..
