The Lord of the Beer #30 Duvel
Hello Steemians !
As you probably know, I came back to Louvain-la-Neuve and it’s the second session time so a lot of my friend are studying right now. One of them has got an exam recently and his other one is early September so he can afford a break between the two.
One thing leads to another here we are in my kot (basically an apart/house that I share with 7 others students) drinking beers he brought. As he knows that I’m a fan of the Rochefort 10, he took me this one and for him a Duvel. I jump on the occasion to taste the Duvel because it’s a well-known beer and I didn’t make a review about it yet !
Description
This is a blond beer with 8.5%, it’s brewed by the Duvel brewery which also makes the Maredsous and the Vedett. It was created in 1918 and got his name 5 years later by a friend of the brewer who called it “a real devil” which ends up in Duvel. The brewery, which changed its name to be the same as its main beer, is located in the Flemish part of Belgium, a little north of Brussels.
Little fun fact, the beer produces a really neat foam and the glass is specially designed to draw attention on it.
Tasting
Time to taste ! This beer has a specific odor of malt. It’s a little sour and acid and those tastes stay in a long after taste. It’s not too sweet or sparkling and I would even call this beer unique because I never taste that in another one. The only problem for me is the bitterness and you know me, I don’t like it, especially when it lasts for a long after taste.
Rating
I rate this beer 8/20, I know some people will hate me for that but I just don’t like this beer, it’s too bitter for me. Still, this beer has its own unique taste and I fully understand why people love this one.
That's it for today, I hope you like this review and be sure to upvote and follow me for more, there will be one post per day !
