My trip to Croatia

in #croatia6 years ago

Hello Guys,

I am back with an article about my Trip to Croatia. It is the destination we chose, with my boyfriend, to discover last summer. It is a country I never went before. Without regret, it was handsome. We spent 7 great days discovering different places in Croatia.

We went to Croatia in September after our exams. Because it is clearly cheaper than during summer.
Thanks to Ryanair we founded cheap return aeroplane tickets. We booked our trip four months earlier to find the best prices. We landed in Zadar where we spend four days and then we went to Split for two days.

We decided to rent a car for one week and to discover some places. I was stressed with the car renting. My boyfriend was always driving. Croatians drive more dangerously and differently than Belgians. But having our own car was very convenient. We could move wherever we wanted without depending on public transport. We decided to take the cheapest and smallest car on Fleet. Without regret because the car has been upgraded at Zadar's airport. We had a big white car. The check-in and check-out went well. we did not have to pay extra. we returned the car to the fleet in its initial state.

Now I am going to detail our destination. I am going to talk about Zadar where we spent a few nights, about different excursions and finally about Split where we spent a night for my birthday. We had a guide “ le Routard” where we founded a lot of good addresses.

Zadar

We were there a few days. Unfortunately, it was raining. One day there were so many floods. It was very impressive. We saw the boats sunk in the harbour. We had a great apartment where we were having a good time. There was a kitchen, so we did not have to spend all our money at the restaurant. A great thing to know is that in Zadar you can have pizza parts for a few euros. And pizzas were excellent. On the day we decided to try a good restaurant. It is called "Bruschetta". It was delicious! The restaurant is always full. If you want to try I advise you to make a reservation. As I am talking about food, there are great ice creams in the centre.

Zadar is a great little city very charming. There are ancient monuments. It is a city known for its Roman ruins. It is very pleasant to walk along the sea. There is a marine organ. Very impressive and relaxing.

Krka

It is a national park along the Krka river. It is known for its many waterfalls. To avoid the crowd, I advise you to come early in the morning. It is impressive. If like me, you like beautiful landscapes it’s worth the detour. There is a place where swimming is allowed. The water is hot and there is a waterfall in the background. In high season it Is approximately 16 euros to visit Krka. You have a shuttle included in your ticket.

Plitvice

It is another national park in the centre of Croatia. There are different routes depending the time you want to spend there. There is plenty of beautiful lakes and some waterfall. The water is turquoise, and it is beautiful. A wooden log path goes around the park. There are also caves. I loved to walk down there. The ticket is between 55 and 110 Kuna so 8 euros and 16 euros.

Split

Split is the second largest city in Croatia in the region of Dalmatia. It is a city where there are a lot of tourists. But the city is still very charming. There are dozens of bars restaurant and shops. The Diocletian's palace and the visit of the old town were my favourite things to do there.
we had a good beer on my birthday on a terrace in the sun. it was very nice with a view of the sea.

I hope you like my few tips about Croatia. It is a Country where there are many things to see. If you have any country to advise me! Do not hesitate! I love discovering new countries and new cultures.

I am glad I found this! Me and my friends are going to Croatia this summer! I found this really useful :D

Enjoy then ! :D

What a lovely, clean country that is! I love the nature. Thanks for sharing your trip!

It's always economical and advantageous to visit cool places in the off-season for one you get the best reservations at the cheapest price. No competing for choice places with other tourist and a kind of privacy that you don't get when everywhere is populated. I am glad you had fun @jarendesta. As for my recommendation you should visit the https://www.thesafaricollection.com/properties/giraffe-manor/ .

I'm glad you enjoy your trip! Btw. this is Split on the picture in the Zadar section. Cheers!
