RE: Wild Bill Hickok: His Early Years

in #history6 years ago

howdy again goldendawne! well my interest in the Western lore and culture started when I was a kid growing up out by Dodge City, Kansas and hearing stories about the Indians and frontiers people, then with the famous Boot Hill with the replica of the old 1870 Dodge City and it's main street right there and museum, those were influences and I just ate it up like I had a natural desire to learn about it.

Then reading magazines like True West and Old West magazines kept me interested, I never really got any history books until now though.

Oh and the Western movies were the rage when I was growing up that's true, all the John Wayne movies and Clint Eastwood movies were very influential and increase my love for the West.

They almost never make Westerns anymore dog gonit! lol.
