If you have read my last chapter, you may read some information of the vegetables. So, today I thought to talk about more of them.
1. Cabbage
Cabbage are famous vegetable among everyone. Cabbage helps you to keep you feeling strong and healthy. It contain high volume of Vitamin K, C. Furthermore it contains fiber, potassium and protein. People love to eat them by adding to salad, making sandwiches and adding to soup.
Let’s see the benefits. Since it has Vitamin C, it helps you to keep strong. It helps to absorb iron from plant based foods. Cabbage has the capability of keep your digestive system healthy and bowel movements regular. Furthermore they help to protect you from heart problems and helps to control your blood pressure.
2. Eggplant
This is another familiar vegetable to Sri Lanka. They are belong to the nightshade family of plants and use for making different dishes. When it comes to the dishes Botu Moju obviously came to my mind and it is a famous dishes we are making using eggplant. Eggplants are rich in Fiber, Protein, Manganese, Potassium, Vitamin K,C.
Since eggplant contains high number of antioxidants, they help to prevent you from different types of chronic disease like heart and cancers. They helps to control your blood sugar level as well. Another thing is they help to weight loss.
3. Broccoli
This is very famous vegetable when it comes to making different type of salads. They are rich in Protein, Fat, Fiber, Vitamin C, A, K, B9, Potassium, Phosphorus and Selenium.
Broccoli helps you to reduce blood sugar, cholesterol levels, and oxidative stress. They are contains various bioactive compounds and therefore they reduce inflammation. Most important benefits is, they prevent you from different type of cancers such as Breast, Prostate, Stomach, Bladder, Kidney. Furthermore support to your heart healthy as well.
