My Application for The Alliance Community
Every day that I am on steemit, I am learning how to get the most out the experience for myself and I am learning helpful information to share with family, friends, and especially new steemians. Today I hope to learn more about The Alliance.
I appreciate steem’s opportunity as an artist, writer, and student. But I also appreciate the communities. I have grown so accustomed to my #improv community, that branching out took some time. The first communities I met were Steemspeak and Steemtrail. They were helpful when I was first starting out. Within the past month I have gotten to know other communities such as SteemExperience, and today I am officially applying for THE ALLIANCE.
HOW
I saw the tag, #thealliance at the end of posts. I stumbled into the discord and said hello but did not apply right away. I am thankful for @BattleAxe for not only encouraging me to apply but for sharing more information on how positive The Alliance has been helping Steemians connect with each other and succeed together. So in a round about way, I found out about The Alliance from BattleAxe.
WHY
I want to take care of myself while I continue to help others. The first community I was a part of was Steemtrail. I appreciated discovering new authors and learning new cultures and professions. I enjoyed helping others but over time I was neglecting my own interests and content. It was a balancing act that I never quite figured out until I took more control of my time. Currently I consider myself a manual curator, but I balance the majority of my time connecting and helping others with their #SteemExperience. I want to join the Alliance not only to help take care of myself, but to also afford time helping new members including any friends and family who may someday join steemit.
WHAT VALUABLE QUALITIES DO I HAVE TO CONTRIBUTE?
Everyone is priceless, especially when they know who they are and what they care about. And perhaps that perspective is just one of the values I add to fellow steemians. Not everyone is used to writing, photographing, video or audio recording. But many come to Steemit to do so. Some people come here and their focus is on how to receive the financial reward while forgetting what and who they care about. I make an effort to remind people on and off steemit to focus on what they care about, and follow their bliss.
I am an Improviser with over 17 years experience and over 25 years of experience with the page and stage. I am a member of the world's longest running original cast improv team, The Reckoning. I believe the Arts remind us of our humanity and I make an attempt to remember my own in all that I do. I appreciate sharing improv lessons and stories with others. I continue advocate Steemit to a large number of friends in person and on other social media platforms. I moderate several Facebook groups including one called @ImprovCoin which seeks to provide a safe place for Facebook friends to learn and share what they are learning about Blockchain and Cryptocurrenies, especially Steem. I also keep an eye on the #improv and #family sections of steemit.chat.
@Sykochica and I have gotten together once a week to talk about Smart Media Tokens and communities. We have recorded podcasts on DSound about it and I recently wrote a 10 page screenplay to creatively illustrate smart media tokens opportunity with communities. I sent this screenplay as well as a cover letter to 150 theaters and improv creatives as an invitation to let me help them get started and keep going with steem.
Aside from pursuing a career as a full time improviser and screenwriter, I have taught myself investing and consider myself a self made Fintech consultant. I continue to learn options trading via TastyTrade, have learned basic analysis from BabyPips and TradeWithPrecision, and have traded binary options on NADEX. I have grown to enjoy charting and chatting on Trading View and have been sharing my charts and analysis on steemit in a series I call #HODL Charts. While I respect others who share their analysis, my charts are not necessarily for the day to day trader. Rather, I hope to help those who HODL. Most people do not have the time to learn everything that goes into charts, and I am still learning myself. But I still think people deserve to have just enough information to make independent educated decisions. Therefore I believe I provide a valuable service to investors, especially those on steemit. My HODL charts help investors to better understand the movements in the market, reducing FOMO and impatient trading. My charts also help those with liquidity to target ideal entry points to increase their positions.
I enjoy few things more than several hours sitting at a manual typewriter, crafting a story into a screenplay. But above all I love my family and the time I get to spend with them.
And this is the part I was not expecting to write. But I want to share why I have been hesitant to apply for The Alliance. I have a crush on BattleAxe. She knows this. I like her very much. We are friends and I do not want to risk losing that friendship. The time I get to talk and chat with her is more valuable to me than gold. Therefore I have taken some time to reflect on applying for membership in a community that she is actively a part of and that continues to reward her. She deserves it. She is wonderful human being and a valuable asset to the Steem and Blockchain community.
But if that all sounds kosher, then I look forward to hearing more about The Alliance and how I can contribute in some small way to it’s community of creators and curators.
Nice post.
