Organic vs Non Organic, Here On Steemit.

in #grassroots8 years ago (edited)

Would like to share some thoughts on some of the topics discussed numerous times already here on various peoples blogs.

One of these topics that seems to be the nucleus of all the discussions is "Bots", man made programs that do the manual work instead of human beings. Could compare it to the "robot revolution" that took place a few decades ago in the manufacturing industries.

I have seen some people use the terms "Organics" and "non Organic" used to portray the same topic.

In a way, I prefer the term "Organic" as it in many ways implies "ALL NATURAL".

Although personally I have no ill feelings about any of the bots out there, in fact I am still playing around with them and checking out all the inns and outs of it all. I have to admit that real live one on one contact with people here on Steemit is what I consider to be the foundation to everything.

Nothing can replace a human being, no machine, no computer, no program.

We can have machines and programs jump in and do some work instead of humans, but there is no machine that is unique like a human. They may imitate human behavior but they can never become human. Which was depicted very well throughout the series of movies called "Terminator".

All of the above is in many ways why I proposed a very human and organic idea here on Steemit.

All natural and being a GRASSROOTS movement it promotes the very being of Blogging and everything that Steemit stands for.

People interacting with people, one on one.

So no matter how many tools of the trades may get reinvented, this idea promotes the heart and soul of this community.

All it takes is for each and every one of us to resteem and upvote a post that we believe deserves it.

What better way of showing personal support to a fellow blogger who is new here.

All it takes is a few moments of our time to scroll through the "NEW" posts out there and find one that we feel is something that we can resteem. A post that if we had written back when we first got here, should have been seen and noticed, a post that we would have like to have been upvoted and resteemed by someone who isn't necessarily following us yet.

It really is as simple as that.

No clubs, no memberships, no chores or obligations, just a nice gesture from one human being to another.

The more of us doing it, whether it be daily or weekly, the more quality content shall noticed and appreciated.

I sincerely hope that you can find the time to consider becoming a part of this Grassroots movement.

No matter if you already do this or not, it doesn't hurt to remind ourselves of who and what we are and how the little things in life can make a world of difference!

I am including a link to the last post on the topic for those who wish to read up on the background of this idea.

You ask what better way there is to show support, and I will answer with, take time to read/watch/listen to/look at the post and then write a reply, not just a "nice post" response, a bot can do that. Make it a real reply, something that shows you have taken the time to appreciate the persons work. Reference something from the post, compliment something, offer advice, ask questions...just show the author someone REAL is actually out there taking an interest in what they are writing and they are not wasting their time and energy posting into the ether.

Cheers for a good little post.

good comment..............;)

Good posts deserve good comments. Thanks.

did you catch the sarcasm?

Yep, following what I said , you just threw in a "nice post" comment...

ok good!! ;)

Yeah the "nice post" reply.. it's like... so umm are you going to elaborate?

postings are amazing in my opinion, with us always interact with fellow users, we also can establish a good brotherhood without any intermediaries, although have not had time to meet face to face, but we can share each other with a light discussion and greet each other. success always make you @jackmiller

I'm sure bots can be very clever and profitable to their owners, but ultimately communities are built by people not by automation. If there weren't real people here, saying and doing real things there would be no reason at ALL to even look at this web site.

And maybe that's one of the great challenges Steemit faces, as a community: This is ultimately a "debate" between those who see this purely as a sort of "virtual cash dispenser" (which is there to be exploited by "whatever means") and those who see it as a "social content platform" which means building community and accepting rewards as a long term consequence of our actions. Frankly, I prefer the latter.

Bright Blessings!

It seems to me already in Steemit you can find more communication with people than in real life. In real life, high technologies are so developed - computers, telephones and much more, that people, unfortunately, themselves become like robots. And, at the same time, they become lonely. I do not use bots in Steemitt. I like to read articles myself, vote for them. I can comment. I know that my comments read and respond to them. The main thing is that I found friends. I get positive from them. Of course, the new users are heavier in Steemit. But at first nothing happens easily. I support communication between people, not robots! I'm for organic!
