Me, E.T., Michael Jackson, and my first Steemit post
Hello everyone! Nice to meet you.
This is me with my wonderful Michael Jackson/E.T. photo that my brother got me for Christmas. I don’t have any photos of my family in my room but some how this one feels like an oddly good substitute.
I'm American but lived for a long time in Japan and am now studying in France, just outside of Paris.
I previously worked as a journalist and wrestled with the question of how to get people to pay for good content every day. I also covered Bitcoin (including the Mt. Gox fiasco) so I have an interest in cryptocurrencies. When I heard about Steemit from a friend, I thought I should check it out.
I love to listen to music so I plan to use my Steemit account to post about music that I like. For the past few years I've set myself a goal of listening to one new song a day (which is very convenient now with Spotify and Soundcloud and YouTube).
I also try to listen to music from around the world and from different time periods. Right now I'm hooked on Korean indie music...
Can't wait to read everyone else's posts and participate in the Steemit community!
P.S. I also realized you can see my shirt in this photo. It's one of my favorites. It's from a whole line of items featuring a strange cartoon dog named "Mambo" available in Japan. I like Mambo because he looks like he was created by putting a bunch of chicken nuggets of different sizes and shapes together. Also, his name is ridiculous. What do you think?

Yes, Okinawa is the most beautiful place we have ever lived. We would love to go back, but my current job keeps us where we are.
