I'm & My Wife at the Wedding Reception

Each region has different customs and culture, these differences make us (Indonesia) a multi-ethnic and cultural country by upholding the values of the state philosophy so that we live in harmony and within the democratic system we adhere to.

The Engagement Challenge Season 8 Week 1 organized by Steem Fashion&Style piqued my interest in participating, not only as a reader but as one of the contestants. It's an interesting theme, I've seen a variety of cultural modes of Engagement Challenge participants.

What is your specific cultural attire and how frequently do you wear it?

At My Wedding Reception in 2016

From the picture beside, I can describe that the clothes I use are my regional customary clothes. The dress is called "Meukasah", usually this dress is used for formal events such as dresses for the bride and groom at wedding receptions, but it is also often used for other events such as graduations and other traditional events.

Throughout my age, I have only worn this dress twice, namely at my wedding reception which was held at my house and secondly at the reception at the bride's house.

List and describe the activities for which you use this cultural attire.

This traditional dress is specifically used for wedding receptions, regional traditional events and other formal events such as graduations, cultural activities and even now the government has grounded this traditional dress through Carnaval activities for students in 1 year 2 times.

This Meukasah shirt is a symbol of Acehnese culture, and Aceh as a province that has special autonomy has a special institution known as the Wali Negara institution. These traditional clothes are the clothes that are worn every day by the guardians of the country both in formal cultural events and other events that are non-formal in nature.

Do you think your cultural attire is unique and how much does it cost in your country's currency?

This Meukasah shirt is a unique shirt, this is closely related to the historical value of the shirt itself. This traditional dress is decorated with many knick-knacks made of copper and even earlier during the royal period the knick-knacks started from gold-based hats, shirts and pants.

These traditional clothes have symbols that must be preserved by the community, for example clothes as a regional identity, religious symbols, the dignity and worth of the Aceh region and symbolize unity and oneness. When looking at this Meukasah shirt in full, the sons and daughters of Aceh will realize the essence of the culture that has become part of themselves.

These traditional clothes have various prices, the price difference lies in the materials used, but in general these clothes have prices between IDR. 1,500,000 to IDR. 2,000,000.

Share your cultural attire price in cryptocurrency like steem.

If converted to Steem, this custom dress has a price range between 458 Steem to 610 Steem. the price corresponds to the current Steem rate which I guide on https://coinmarketcap.com/id/currencies/steem/

Thus the introduction of my regional fashion, hopefully it will be a reference for other steemians about the existing cultural treasures, not only in my area (Aceh province) but other regions in the world.

You are looking absolutely stunning in that dress. I find it fascinating that the Meukasah dress has a long historical background. Thank you for sharing your cultural attire with us. It's always inspiring to learn about different cultures and traditions. 😊

Meukasah is looking very unique and very pretty and especially in the pictures the background that you are showing his also looking very good and the makeup and look of bride is very decent and everyone can judge by seeing this costume that it can be weared at the wedding events of parties and mostly can be wear by the groom and bride as you have also written in your article.

The prices are according to the costume because they are weared by mostly groom and bride so I think because of this prices are high but not too much high.

On the other hand if I talk about the costume formation than you said that it is some how made up of copper so I have seen the work of copper at the dresses of brides in my country Pakistan copper work really looks amazing and also it is costly and it looks very good to follow your historical dresses and basically to follow our history is our culture to follow the dresses that our ancestors also like to wear
