Another post full of gems. My biggest issue in the past when goal setting was I never ironed out the small details or checkpoints along the way as best as I should have. That made it really easy for me to lose track of my vision wasting valuable time a long the way. The other important aspect I would neglect is proper tracking of those goals. I knew where I wanted to end up, but I wasn't making sure that my effort was taking me directly from point A to B without getting side tracked. Thanks for the helpful tips!
What you describe is the truth for most people. Partly it's because we're never taught those steps you normally skip. It's also a bit of impatience, since the parts skipped seem like they aren't advancing us toward our goal, even though they make sure other actions we do will advance us toward our goals. And lastly, there's just a lack of normalization. It doesn't seem like anyone else is doing all of this to accomplish their goals, so do we really have to?
The thing is, we don't really see what other people are doing behind the scenes. We don't see how much effort went into getting them to the point where their efforts were (partly) visible. With really successful people, they may not even see all of this because they have assistants who are doing these things for them then just telling them where to show up when (like the productivity tool).
And then there is a certain element of luck that can really confuse people! But ultimately, if you want dependable results that improve over time without relying on steady luck, this is how you do it.
This was very helpful even on my simple level of things I have in mind to do. I got some ideas coming to my thoughts of goals in life. The nuggets of wisdom you just shared is enough for me to know how you retired early, which is what I would love to do, I just gotta find my path that suits me. Thanks for sharing the details on organization and the importance of it. Perhaps we can can have a chance to meet one day.....my wife and I can gain so much just listening to you over a great meal.
You are too damn Awesome!!!!
That's so great to hear. I used to teach this stuff, so now I've sort of recorded it "on paper" for posterity. I really do hope you can use it to help you start checking things of the big To Do list. And enjoying the process of doing so!
Would love to meet the two of you one of these days. Perhaps we'll find ourselves at a Steemfest at the same time.
this is by far the best thing I've read today, and it relates to my situation now. im trying to joggle between school, steemit and friends/family. it seems overwhelming sometimes going through it all mentally and I'm stressed even before I start doing anything. with these practical steps of yours i hope to energy my time and energy productively.
This really helps. My boyfriend and me are both so full of ideas and creativity that we start a new project having already several projects. It's a real challenge to just stay with few projects and accomplish them. We need to help eachother focus. 😂 But these tips are really helpful. Also concentrate on no more than 3 projects. Your article put's me in a mood that I want to try them right away.
such great advice in here, at the moment I am just dealing with things that come up on a day to day basis, as my life has had huge changes and also because it is quiet hot. But soon I will be wanting to get things moving again, esp my garden as it has been left to go wild due to me travelling between here and Ireland alot. But at the moment day by day xx
Yes, sometimes we are more focused on the short run. It is only when taking on a single goal that will take months to achieve that such an elaborate organizational process is important. I very well can appreciate those times in life where we need to stay focused on just the next few days! Good luck with everything you're moving into place right now.
It is about prioritizing and organizing as the goals are achieved, work with order and discipline.
Sometimes we let ourselves be overwhelmed by wanting to accomplish several tasks at once, in the end all are inconclusive.
Very interesting the subject that you share today.
