Legends Never Die - My League Of Legends Experience (Emotional Game Moments Contest)

Image souce

I've always thought about the impact of the videogames in the people's lives, some TV shows say that the videogames make people get violent, other say that videogames can make the people learn to use the brain in a better way and more.

I don't know who has the truth but, if I can be a testimony of what the videogames have given to me, I can say that I know how to solve problems quickly, I've good reflexes, I'm almost bilingual (English-Spanish) just for playing some videogames since I was 5 years old. From SNES to PlayStation 4, I've played several games (I can count more than 70 games finished and counting) and I still love gaming.

I've passed through so much awesome and rage/HATER lovely moments in my life by playing videogames, also I've passed through sad moments and really HYPE ones and this is an opportunity to talk about the videogame that has become in a part of my life, a lifestyle and more.

Yes, I'm talking about League Of Legends.

My Emotional Experience playing LoL

I've played League Of Legends since 2011. The game's evolution has been (in an exponential way) truly AWESOME, it pass from being just another MOBA to become one of the best E-Sports in the world with huge earnings by tournaments and a lot of remuneration for people from all over the world that make streamings, coaching and more.

League of Legends Season 2 Playoff

I remember when I started to play LoL in Season 2, it wasn't the first time I played a MOBA, before knowing the League I've played the first DOTA (a special game developed in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne) or Defense Of The Ancients for the people that don't know it. I saw that the mechanics were really similar between both games. The game instantly catch my feels, I started to make some awesome plays, the "farming" concept, the "pushing" concept, the "freezing" concept, all that concepts were really weird for me but I searched and investigate a lot to learn about the game.

I was in front of my new lifestyle and I didn't know it...

The happy beginning

For some reason anyone who started playing League Of Legends started by using Ashe or Garen, that was the two champions that Riot forced invite you to use in your first games. I started knowing the system, how to throw the abilities and knew the smart cast, that was the first step to become a better player.

My first role was Support, I bought a few champions with that role like Soraka, Janna, Blitzcrank, and more. When I reached lvl 30 I remember my friends telling me: "Now is when the real LoL begins, you have to play ranked games", I didn't understand in that moment what they were telling me but I keep training and buying some runes to customize my champions. I was really afraid to rank, and I didn't find a way to know a little more detailed about the game... until I knew this:

The League Of Legends World Championship

This was totally crazy for me!! I was like "DUDE! there's an alive tournament of people playing League Of Legends?", was one of the best things that I've ever know in my entire life.

I saw all that awesome plays, the hype moments and one of the best things that the "Worlds" had: the narrators, they were people that give all the epicness feel to all the streamings and games by speaking about the the games, give some details about the gamers's playstyle, and more.

That was the first time that I followed a professional League Of Legends Team: Taipei Assasins, they were the Worlds's Champions on Season 2, they were the first team that inspired me to grow up as a Summoner.

I started to rank then (in Season 3 almost Season 4), and I was doing really good, I started in Silver IV because the first time I rank I won 8 of 10 games and they put me in that league.

Playing a lot of rankeds I met so much people that would become in really close friends to me in the future and actually are my best friends ever. League Of Legends gave me not just a team... it gave me a family.

The first time I arrived the Gold League

When you play ranked it's just AMAZING the news that you join a new league by winning all the games that you play since you start. From Bronze to Challenger you have to go through a really difficult sort of games with many and many experienced (or sometimes not much) people that can carry you, make you anger, and more.

I arrived the GOLD League for the first time in 2015, I just played Thresh since the beggining of Silver II til' the arrival to Gold V. It was like a dream, one goal achieve that felt really amazing and inspired me to keep training to become a really experienced player.

The Role I Choose

When this champion arrived in LoL the mechanics change a lot and I met for the first time the "kitting" concept, it was just cool to see how Kalista moves after every basic attack, that maked her really dangerous and I fall in love immediately with her, so I bought her and started to know the Attack Damage Carry role. That role is the one who play duo with a Support on the bot lane, is the champion that should make the more physical damage on every game and stay shooting and attacking from the backline while the Tanks do the frontline job.

Since then I've played several games being ADC and Jungle so I decided to main this two roles to play in a more professional way.

The sad and heartfelt part of LoL in my life

A selfie taked by me in the hospital, 2014

In 2014 I was hospitalized by a spontaneous pneumothorax, my lung collapsed and practically I breathed for a single lung for a week til' I went to the hospital. I needed an emergency surgery. My lung was punctured and fluid drained for a month, however, I almost died in that operation due to a respiratory deficiency during the surgey.

When the doctor finished I was truly scared and my little brother enter to see me in the surgery room, my birthday was really close to that day and when I was about to die all my life pass through my eyes and I remember that my brother said that he'll gift a LoL champion skin to me on my birthday.

That day, I said to him that I wanted the Masked Shaco for my birthday, my brother left the room crying thinking that I would die and one month later (after I left the hospital) he gave it to me. I actually have it on my account and played a lot with that champ.

The Guardian Angel did work in me

Another story about a hard time in my life with LoL behind was the day I met a friend of mine called ImPhoenix on LoL. We talked a lot and one day we decided to met each other in real life because we were playing in the same Team Ranked since a couple of month. We arrived and we found at a place in Caracas, Venezuela where we drank a lot of beers and met a lot of each other.

A selfie on the beach

The day after it we planned to go to the beach with a girl friend of mine so we go and was a really awesome and fun day. He had a car so he took us there and all was just right. Til' the night comes...

In Venezuela the situation with the crime is really awful and that night we were chased by three motorcycles that wanted to steal us my friend's car. They not only chased us, they shoot us also, some shots hit the car but my friend and I get out alive from that horrible situation.

Here i leave you some photos taked that night:

After all that situation I remember when my friend stopped the car inside the building where I live and told me ironicaly smiling: "Well, the Guardian Angel did work in us didn't it?"

The best hype and sad moments in my Summoner's life

I have so many things to tell you about the game, all the thing that I've seen since 2011, all the screams and the sad moments when I cried a lot and more, but I'm going to number a few of them:

  • The Best Backdoor Ever Made

In League Of Legends, the backdoor is a way to destroy the enemy's Nexus by going alone to the enemy's base while your team distract the others. Is a really dangerous play but can make that your team win the game even if you're been destroy it.

This happened in 2013, in a tournament where the teams FNATIC and SK Gaming were playing. SK Gaming was wining the game and destroying the FNATIC team but a player called xPeke did the best backdoor ever made in a LoL game. I leave the Youtube video about it below:

  • The day I've met SK Telecom 1

This is the best team that have ever played League Of Legends. They've won three times the League Of Legends Worlds Championship and have within its roster the best League Of Legends player ever borned.

The SKT1 Mid Laner: Faker

This is the best Mid Laner and Overall player in all the history of League of Legends, his real name is Lee Sang-Hyeok and is like the Lionel Messi (talking in a soccer meaning) of LoL.

This player shows a lot of mechanics, invented so many playingstyles for too many champs like Lissandra, Cassiopeia, Zilean, Zed, etc, he do a lot of streamings raking with another account called hide on bush and is a truly funny human being. Also is the only player that have won the Worlds three times in history. He has even his own champion skins, skins made by the Riot Games like thematic SKT1 skins for have won the Worlds.

In 2017 (Last Worlds) SKT1 lost the final against the Samsung Galaxy team from Korea, this day Faker did something that he had never done: cry. He cried a lot when they lost because nobody was used to seeing SKT1 losing that way (3-0, they never lost a final like that), and was one of the saddest moment ever in the LoL history.

  • The evolution of the Worlds

The Worlds has evolved so much that the last one (2017) was watched by more than 100 million people. The stadium used to host the final was on China in the National Stadium from Pekin. In this last Worlds we saw so much awesome things that make all the summoners to HYPE a lot like awesome teams from all over the world (Latin America, North America, South Africa, Korea, Oceania and more), a truly awesome soundtrack made by this Championship and this:

Elder Dragon crashes Worlds 2017 Grand Final Stage - Worlds 2017 Final Opening Ceremony

THE ELDER DRAGON FROM LOL LANDING OVER THE SCENARIO IN THE OPENING CEREMONY!!! IT WAS AWESOMEEEE!!! The effect were really insane!

The Riot Games company is just a company full of genius, they know how to attract people and League Of Legends has become in a truly magnificent sport.

Now, to end this hype post, I want you to see this, the reason why LoL has transcended to another level, this is my sport.

So much story from one game, friends became family and getting to meet in game friends irl, and your escape truly noone have to go through that process, glad you stayed with us 😁.

Just joined LOL and seeing how the game has developed from what it used to be is really a great achievement not every game keeps their users active and most just stop been active after few years.

Only few found ways of keeping their users active and wanting to play more, 2011 till date really been a long time, and the experience you probably have by now is godly.

I'm not the BEST player but I defend myself really well haha, thank you so much for coming here and comment 🙌🏼
