EDUCATING THE GIRL CHILD

First who is the girl- child and of what importance is she to the society?. Simply put, the girl-child is a female child. She gradually develops into a woman or a mother who takes care of the family, assistance the breadwinner of the family, cautions the children when they go wrong etc. She is endowed with various talent's, sense of caring l, love and tenderness

With time, the girl-child is exposed to lots of risks and challenges; she is saddled with more social responsibilities as she develops into womanhood. This is why she needs to be highly protected and educated in other to prepare her morally and intellectually for the task ahead. The importance of training the girl-child both intellectually and morally cannot be overemphasized.
Educating the girl-child saves lives and reduces poverty.

According to united nation's international children emergency fund (UNICEF) findings are n 2011, extra year of mother schooling reduces the probability of infant mortality by five to ten percent. In Subsaharan Africa, an estimated 1.8 million children's lives could have been saved in 2008 if their mothers had at least a secondary education.

Educating the girl-child raises lifetime incomes for them, their families and their countries. Girls who have never more year of education than the normal average, earn ten to twenty percent, more on average even more than for boys.

Girl-child Education lowers the spread of HIV/AIDS. Women with post-primary education are five times more likely than illuterate women to be educated on the topic HIV/AIDS. This in turn, lowers the rae at which the virus is disease can be transmitted.

Also it reduces violence: Educated women are more likely to resist abuses such as domestic violence, tradition like female genital mutilation and discrimination at home, at work place or in society.
Further still, when the girl-child is Educated, the whole family is also Educated. An educated mother is more likely to send her children to school. To this end, the rate if illiteracy is greatly reduced.
It improves maternal health. Educating girls for six years or more drastically and consistently improves their pre- natal care, post natal care and childbirth survival rates.

Finally, the girl-child is an integral part of the society. Therefore she should be well taken care of and integrated in useful programmes. More importantly, she should be Educated. This would obviously yield more beneficial results in the family and the society at large.

In conclusion I would say that girl-child Education is important for the wealth of the nation. It is also part of their right and desire. So let's educate them.
