Bebe Rexha "Expectations" - Album Review
Hello everyone.
Be comfortably welcome to this space that I have created in this platform where I will give my most sincere opinions about music.
I welcome you and I hope that this content is to your liking.
On June 22nd, the singer and composer Bebe Rexha published her debut album under the name of "Expectations" after 3 years in the music market, where she remained in public by publicizing 3 EP:
"I Don't Wanna Grow Up" - 2015
"All Your Fault Part. 1" - 2016
"All Your Fault Part 2" - 2017
And now with his debut album "Expectations".
This album is composed of 14 songs, where 2 of them were the official singles of their 2 predecessors EP "I Got You" and "Meant To Be" and 12 unpublished songs.
With this album, Bebe Rexha intends to show the world as a great artist. Highly evolving composition and vocal range.
The album presents a varied production linked to melodic pop, resulting in a very pleasant and professional atmosphere. It has very melodic songs based on electronica as is the case of the song "Sad", songs with regge influences such as "Self Control", trap influences "Steady", ballads "Grace" and "Pillow", and another face more current and commercial as "I'm a mess" and "I Got You".
On the lyric level, the album focuses on love, dis-love and life.
These are lessons, contributions, surpasses and self-sufficiency.
The life is represented in the song "Ferrari" using metaphors about living life in the moment without presipitate in the future. - "Living in the fast lane is getting kind of lonely".
Narrations of everyday life such as the song "Shining Star".
In the concept of love he identified it a little with Yin and Yang, then, they are very different from each other. The love and dis-love.
The songs about love are very real. Especially shines in the songs "Pillow" and "I Got You" which are perfectly romantic.
The dis-love presented in the album is extremely strong and described in a very metaphorical way. The story of these are focused on sadness and abandon something, "Sad" "Grace" or "Knees" and "I'm a mess" a clear example of these. Letters with which people feel identified.
His voice is very personal and addictive, which I think is a point in his favor. At the vocal level, it shows a great evolution on its part. She is serene, self-confident, able to show everyone her vocal ability. Especially in the songs "Grace", "2 Souls On Fire", "Don't Get Any Closer", "Ferrari" and "I Got You", where he reaches incredibly high scores considerably.
"Expectations" It is a world of life, real and strong situations, from which we must emerge victorious and be reborn from them.
Bebe Rexha brings a precious message to the youth with the album, to be self-sufficient and to be honest with ourselves.
"Expectations" shines in every way and not all the albums manage to reach an atmosphere like what Bebe has done with this album.
I think "Expectations" fully complies with its stated purpose.
She wanted to show the world that she is a true artist, and sincerely, she managed to do it.
Now, I would like to hear your opinions about this great artist's debut album. Did you like it or not?
