Dance Until You Forget the Music

...which is what I did last night.

See, I'm not a good dancer, traditionally, because I have shitty rhythm, balance, whatever. I'd probably be done for if I had to do something fancy like ballroom dancing or really, just anything involving a partner/other people/any sort of rhythm. Not my thing. And I've come to terms with that. I mean, sure I'd love to be a beautiful, graceful dancer. But I am content with being a beautiful, less graceful wobbler.

You have to find the compromise, man. Always.

Obviously, there is an exception to the above rule and that is concerts. I love dancing at concerts, mainly because it's music that I love and with the concert I went to last night, it's music I've known and loved for ages. Old friends, as it were.
And I love going to these guys' shows because there is always such a warm feeling with the audience. They've been around for some 20 years and they've built up quite the following. And they have amazing lyrics and melody, so obviously there was a lot of dancing.

And it felt...incredible.

To lose yourself in the music is one of the best feelings in life. At one point, I was dancing with my eyes closed and it was just such an intense experience that when I opened them, I was like oh look, this guy's here, referring to the singer :))

I loved every minute of it.

And what was extra fun was that it wasn't just them, you know? Every March, there's this sort of mini festival where (mostly) Moldavian bands get together and sing, to honor the union of Bessarabia with Romania in 1918. And it was really fun because I got to see the people before and I didn't know them and they were happy and funny and there was just this incredible atmosphere. The perfect place to lose yourself.
What's interesting is that there has been so much uneasiness inside the country over that land and that union, there still is and it's just great to see people get together and dance and be happy. For a while.
