One of the good things about working at home is you can look however the hell you want.

One of the bad things about working at home is you can look however the hell you want.

And the weird part, you almost always end up looking like this:

Or at least I do. Well, maybe without the blanket on the head, but my hair's a mess right now. See, just what I was saying. Because if you work at home, there's really no pressure to have perfectly shaved legs or bouncy perfectly-in-place hair or whatever.

Or maybe I should say, there's no excuse to have them. Because I'm one of those girls who likes that kind of thing, as I imagine is rather normal. I love looking pretty and taking care of myself. It's just that...well, these self-care moments are often used as an excuse to procrastinate, you know? Given that my working time is whenever, it's always a great loophole to just say "oh but I chipped my nail polish and it looks awful, I better get to it before I get to work" and so on and so forth.

And so, knowing it's an excuse, I try to avoid it and stick to a working schedule. But then, look again at the picture above. It's hard to keep a balance between them, really. Because you spend so much time at home. And fine, maybe you're not looking awful or gross or whatever (I never do, believe me, never), but still, you get to have a certain routine and certain acceptable clothing. Which is pretty much baggy pants and leggings. I've been going around in leggings and a denim skirt for days just because I dread the rigidity of jeans again.

And after extended periods of time, you end up looking like a sort of troll. You avoid sunlight and shit like that. And then, there comes a moment when you have to go outside for some reason and your brain goes into overload. Because you know, at the back of your head, that the outside world doesn't have the same rules and you try desperately to remember them and to make yourself decent again. And sometimes, you even succeed in getting the blanket off your head and that's great. Really. But sometimes you don't.

Then, there's of course the clothes. Because when you spend so much time inside your own home, you're not really going to dress up and wear perfect dresses or whatever, are you? Baggy pants, I just said that. And when you have a reason to go out, you try to wear all the clothes you look good in at once.

See, normal people don't have that.

And you may well be a normal person reading this and be like "what the fuck is the big deal", but you can't understand. Only house-dwellers will understand.

And yes, the thumbnail was total clickbait. Those are indeed my legs, but basically, what I'm trying to tell you with this post is they don't often look like that :))
