STEEM9JA - MY FIRST MEETUP EXPERIENCE

INTRODUCTION
And so it was , my very first steemit meet up. It was organised by steem9ja in collaboration with #stach and #minnowschool .
I am @hokulor and am the financial Advisory rep of the @steem9ja community.

PUBLICITY
It all started with a STEEMIT walk to publicize the meet up. This took place on the 9th of March 2018. We went round the university of port Harcourt ,Choba , Rivers state. So many persons were fascinated at the knowledge of being rewarded for being themselves.
We distributed flyers and enlightened our local community(mostly youth) about the possibilities in steemit.

THE MEET UP

Venue
The venue of the meetup was slated be at The clinical sciences faculty building seminar room.
The sound system, projector and power generating set were all in place for the start

Program
The arrivals were gradual and the meeting commented at 12pm prompt on the 10th of March 2018. We were about 50 persons in attendance.
The meeting went as follows ;

*Opening prayer
*Opening remarks by the Chairman of steem9ja @bhoa .
*Introduction to steemit and the block chain.
*Growing on steemit
*Testimonials/Personal experiences
*Question time
*SBD giveaway and talent contest
*Closing remarks

Opening prayer
The opening prayers were taken by ade ; a newly sensitized steemian and this opened the awesome event

Opening remarks
@bhoa welcomed everyone and went ahead to recognise invited personalities around.
He made known the vision and drive of steem9ja. He also admonished to give our maximum support to the vision.

Introduction to STEEMIT
This session was taken by @francistagbo a delegate from stach repping @ejemai.
He answered the different questions that bothers every minnow.
*what is steemit?
*what is the blockchain?
*what is steempower ?
*what is voting power ?
*where do the rewards come from?

He took his time to explain these and introduce the stach community also admonishing that we get to associate with #stach.
It was really educating for the lot present.

This was one enlightening phase and I learnt the following. 1.Know yourself and keep been yourself
2.Get interested in other person's ideas and make comments as contributions to various work
3.Focus more on quality blogging and maintain a good interactive with the community on steemitchat and discord.

In all it was an exciting time and I had fun. Can't wait till the next meetup.
