Carrying water - Village life - People Photography by worldcapture week #7

So.. One day, while passing through the woods, I came across these colorful ladies carrying water on their head. We were passing through the same street at the same time. I took out my phone in hurry and captured a picture. They didn't mind it. One of them even gave me a nice smile.

These villagers live inside the forest and take water from outside for drinking purposes. And, this takes around an hour of daily walk in the valley.

What actually made me more excited to capture them was the way they were walking, so alert and balanced. Their hands were moving constantly to balance the body and their eyes were fixed only on the path. I also noticed that they had a pretty good communication between themselves, as well. The woman at the front was more alert and the one behind her instinctively trusted her companion and could walk, sometimes, even with her closed eyes (as you can see in the picture also). I loved watching every bit of them.

Their clothes and body posture came out to be more prominent in this one..

Later, I also captured a few shots of the narrow lanes of the valley they pass through.

Some of the routes, I saw, were quite steep for their job.

And, Some even had stones in the middle of the path.

While taking these pictures, I realised how daunting their task is.. and, they need to be quite alert and patient to walk in the valley for hours and happily carry those containers of water on their head everyday. A nice practice for mindfulness, I wonder..🤔 I hope you like meeting them.
