Our Chickens - A Sunny Day Before the Snow Came (8 photos)
I took these photos a few days after New Years. I had given the feather-heads some cookies (no chocolate) and rolls that had gone stale. It was a relatively nice, sunny day. Everyone was happy to get out and stretch their wings and legs.
Chico Rico also enjoyed the baked goods smorgasbord.

Not too many interesting things going on this week. A few eggs here and there. It snowed, but I haven't gotten photos of the chickens running around in it yet. It was -4 when I got up at 7:00 this morning!

My chickens hate the snow, unless it's on my boots. They refuse to set foot on it!

My hens are chilly today, it was 20 degrees here last nite, wind chills in the teens. Their water was frozen solid. Going to be cold again tonight. I just had to get sick yesterday, so I’m homebound for a few days...bummer

Ours have had frozen water for weeks now. Just gotta keep dumping it out and refilling it. I'm also adding liquid vitamins to their water just for an extra health boost in this awful weather.
I'm so sorry you're sick! So far the flu has left us alone, though apparently it is running rampant in the schools. I kept my kids home just for that reason. Too many other sick people. I hope you're well soon! Thanks for stopping by!

They look like they really enjoyed the break in the (winter) routine. It's really easy for cabin fever to set in for everyone when dealing with an extended stretch of nasty weather. Even our dog, Tink, is bugging us for a walk - even in subzero temps and howling winds. (Ain't happenin', but she's still staring at us.)
Getting some depth to our snow, now, too. Fingers crossed, I don't have to deal with it for a couple days.
Our temps are supposed to go up this weekend to the 50's. I'm looking forward to that for sure!

Thanks, hon! Luckily this snow is the fluffy stuff. I swept it off the porch. Didn't even need a shovel.
Yes, it sure is cold, my dogs have been napping all day inside.
