The Sermon of today

Hello guys and today I feel this joy within me to put down these few words. Sundays are always my favourite days of the week because I get to fellowship with the brethren and just like David said in the psalm that he was happy when they said come and let us go into the house of the Lord. I always feel the same way on Sundays when I walk into the house of the Lord for worship. I am always expectant and knowing that God will talk to me in the service and he does.

Today was no exception and through the word of today, I was able to identify a very important aspect of my relationship with him that has been dying. All this while, I finally realized that I have arrived at so many decisions in my life and made so many choices in my life without enquiring of the Lord. I failed to enquire of God's take on so many things and by so doing assumed Lordship over my life. That has been a principal reason why I have not encountered him the way I should. I finally realized this one thing Inhave been failing so woefully to do.

We read a scripture in 1Sam 19 where David enquires of the Lord to up to Judah and even when the Lord said Yes, he still goes ahead to make further enquiries of the Lord just to make sure he is in the perfect will and counsel of God.
Then the question that popped up in my head was:
All the things that I keep praying for and asking God for, did I even enquired of him to know if it is his perfect will for me?

Sometimes we are so busy running the show in our lives, making all the decisions in our lives and because we do all these, sometimes the prayers we make, some of the things we even ask for are completely out of God's will for our lives. We even go ahead and venture into things without enquiring of the Lord and when they fail, God is the first person who gets "Why?" I learned a great lesson today and I have promised myself to walk in the counsel of God in everything I want to do. I will try to always find out what God thinks before going ahead with any plan.
