The Mercies of God

Lamentations 3:22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

I was in a taxi with some other female passengers and one narrated how two dead bodies were discovered in their neighbourhood breaking dawn. The two men were shot dead and the said lady explained they heard the gun shots in the night. With the current crisis in the country, many people have become so familiarized with the sounds and it is now a normal thing. So, they got up just to discover the bodies of the victims.

Another lady also described another scenario she watched in a video that went viral of some gun men killing a woman and her two children. One of the kids was just a little baby of about 9 months but was not spared either. She even narrated how the gun men shot all three of them. When they were about to leave, they discovered the eldest child was still alive and they went back and finished her off with another shot. The lady said she has not been able to erase that scene from her memory.

She explained how she cried everytime she thought about it. After, they all narrated their stories, the big question they started asking each other was:
How can a human being be so wicked towards another?
It is a question that many have asked so many times when you look at the attrocities humans commit against their fellow humans. We have become worst that beasts and will animals. Even in the wild, animals show so much respect for their kind. To worsen the whole issue, some of these attrocities are even committed by people that are supposed to protect us instead.

After the female passengers all shared their stories they started cursing and saying such people who do this horrible things will suffer and will never see the face of God. I could feel their pain and hurt but I knew deep down that God is not like us humans. No matter how we hurt him and no matter what we might have done or become, his mercies are always available. Baffled by this thought, I was just saying within me, don't be surprised that these people you so condemn will make heaven. That is how powerful the mercies of God is and what it does in the destiny of the sinner.

Sometimes, I look deep within me and I ask myself why will God bless me this much?
It's not like I have been a good son to him or anything but he does bless me anyways. It is mot because we deserve his mercies but because he loved us with an everlasting love even in our worst of estates. These people that committed the crimes narrated by these women, God loves them even in that estate and has not condemned them. He is still ready and willing to save them if they will come to him..

Oh, the mercies of God 😭

Howdy there hermannsol! What shocking stories, and this kind of thing is happening in Cameroon? I must admit I know nothing about your country like what kind of government is it, do you have free elections?

You are so right about God, I think we will be surprised by some of the people who make it to heaven. You understand His grace.

We have free elections but that is only on paper. There is always one winner all the time no matter what happens. It is really frustrating..

The mercies of God is something that amazes me every time

I'm sorry to hear that hermannsol. In that situation I don't know how there can be change.
I guess it would take a miracle from God. Perhaps a revival in the land!

I feel so too Sir Janton.
Only a miracle can save us while some think fighting back is the way out. There has been so much bloodshed already 🤦

howdy again sir hermannsol! Oh man, too much bloodshed already, there has to be a way to mobilize people
in peaceful ways to affect things politically. Is Christianity a major part of the population there or is it a minority?
And is Paul Biya the president or leader?
