Biochemistry of Attraction: a must read

Many people have today in our society fall in and out of love with the opposite sex. Some will tell the reason for that, while some will say that they can’t even explain why they love their partners but they just have the feelings for them. Blind people also fall in love by hearing the voices of their partners. I called this AUDIOPHRODIAC which means love through voices. The people with complete sight also experience this. The attraction that occurs through sight is what I called VISUOPHRODIAC. Some are in love with persons thought not to be ideal for them.

Many end up marrying or dating persons you may have to ask why? In the olden days, our fore-parents married without dating each other but after some periods of times the love will reach its apex. You find out that at the beginning of every relationship, the two persons involved may seem not to be serious with each other but as time goes on, they will be filled with the deepest love for each other. You find out that many long distant relationships have failed but many can’t answer why. Some will say “it’s lack of trust” that resulted to that.

Women, mostly try to turn down some sexual advances in the offices maybe from their bosses or other colleagues of theirs. You find out that a particular guy may approach a lady for a date but won’t succeed;

while the same lady may be the one begging another guy for a date. We have heard stories of women holding a man so tight by cooking food with the wash-outs of her private part. Some years back, when local kitchens were highly in use, women were advised to cover their laps while cooking for, especially men that are not their husbands. Most times ladies are advised to cover their bodies (descent dressing) in the public to avoid rape or some other sort of immoral reactions from the opposite sex.

Instances of attraction are enormous but let’s pause for a while to give the chemical or biochemical explanations behind romantic attractions between opposite sexes.

Human beings have lots of receptors in their tissues. The receptors receive some chemical or biological chemical substances which send signals to the brain and therefore, processed, then leads to a biochemical reaction and in this case, attraction. Nature has placed a chemical substance called PHEROMONES in humans. In our body, pheromones are responsible for all social behaviors including attraction and are found in the salivary glands, seminal and vaginal secretions where they elicit some social responses. I address pheromones as a social chemical.

This explains why…

A woman is asked to cover her laps when preparing food especially for a man who is not her husband as the pheromones located in her vaginal secretion will ooze out and find its way to the food. If this happens to find its way into his sensory tissue and the pheromones bind to the pheromone receptors of the man, there is a high likelihood that the man won’t see any other woman in his life except her. This is how the so-called ‘love portion’ works. The same goes to the woman that washes her private parts and uses the wash-outs to prepare a food for a man she wants to capture. Ladies are advised to dress descent to avoid the escape of these pheromones from their bodies this is because in most cases when they bind to the male pheromones receptors, they tend to trigger the release of dopamine which leads to sexual gratification in men and then will possibly result to rape.

The long distance relationship was not able to work out due to the fact that the pheromones will not reach the either partners and hence there is a breach in the chemical signal for both partners.
No wonder a blind man or woman also falls in love. There is an electrotonic signal that elicits the activation of the pheromones receptors which leads to an attraction. There is a region in the brain called the ‘love arena or attraction centre.

This region is where the attraction activities are regulated because it houses the love receptors which are where the pheromones bind. The pheromones here could also be called love molecules. When it binds to the receptors, it results to Love-Receptors complexes which activate the feelings of love.
The so-called touch and follow works on this same principle. The male counterparts secrete a putative pheromone called Androstenone which serves as an attractant for women, and thought to be a positive effector for their mood.

This type of pheromone acts effectively during ovulation and that’s why touch and follow fails sometimes.

If a girl turns your dating request down but accepts the other guy, it means there is no activation reaction in her love arena.
Sometimes, this activation takes time to occur and that explains why some relationships tend to delay at the beginning but with time the two individuals will be filled with each other’s love. This will also explain why love between our parents who never dated before getting married took sometimes to grow.
Some perfumes have been shown to contain these pheromones and aid in the attraction of the opposite sex when sprayed by an individual.

Insects are the major social organism ever existed on earth, insects are known to be the masters of pheromone secretion. They know how better to use them in their social activities.
This is why most times we can’t control who, when, how and where we fall in or out of love.
