Highs and Lows
What a small world we live in?
Yes, so hugely small it is.
A poky imaginary circle
Unending!
Step not on another's toes
While you climb that cozy ladder
Because, same toes you shall meet
While descending
Of what right if not might
That you thrash the poor man?
For the simple but myopic reason
That you are affluent and callous
And like overlords,
You look down on the small man
From your air-conditioned chambers
So high!
The man of low earnings strives
Yet, a lofty dreamer you made him
Sometimes, you make him believe
That he is not even entitled to dream.
