Did you know that there is a platform on Steem blockchain dedicated to adding value to talented people?

Maybe you did. But if you didn't, I will tell you what platform that is. It is "Knacksteem".

Knacksteem is a platform with its primary focus on talented people.

The platform was created out of the project owner's desire to see talented people maximize their potentials, by doing what they love.

While some people have excelled pursuing careers in line with their talents, others haven't been that successful.
This has led most of them to pursue careers other than their niche.
Most times, the resultant effect of that decision is the lack of passion in that chosen career. These individuals end up doing jobs that they are not excited about.
This is why Knacksteem was created. Maybe not the only reason though, but one of the main reasons.

There have been a lot of work on the platform, behind the scenes. Just recently, the project's official blog published an announcement. There are new updates on the platform.

The last update on the platform was two (2) months ago. Within that space of time, no other word was said by the project's team. But I knew there was a lot of work going on.

There were two major update announcements made by the project owner.
The first annoucement talked about new features on the platform. While the second annoucement talked about another vital component of the platform. That is "Knack token" and "Knackstore".

In those announcement posts, the project owner talked about features we would be expecting in the next update.
Some of those features are now live in the latest update, as announced by the project owner.

In this article, I will discuss about the latest updates that have been done on the platform. It will mostly be like a review, or maybe not.

Without further ado, let's delve into the discussion for today.

After going through the update annoucement, it would seem like not much was done. But some of these updates are quite major milestones in Knacksteem's roadmap.

I will start with the most important parts of that update.

Distribution of Knack tokens is now live!

Knacksteem is among the set of dApps that have decided to have their own tokens when SMTs are launched. The others I know of are "Steem hunt" and "Actifit".

In one of the announcement posts published by Knacksteem, they announced that Knacksteem would have its own token.
Although SMTs are not yet launched, it doesn't stop the distribution of these tokens.

The distribution of Knacktokens is something I've been expecting and I'm glad it's finally live.
The distribution of these tokens should have started since last month. But, due to unforeseen circumstances, it wasn't possible.

Knacktokens haven't received a lot of hype in the steem ecosystem, but it ideally should.
The concept of Knacksteem as a project would make these tokens really valuable when SMTs are launched.

According to some posts I've read, based on assumptions, SMTs are likely to be launched before, or, by May 2019.

If the assumptions are true, it means it's barely 2 months to SMTs launch. This is why you need to hurry and get your Knacktokens now.

Knacksteem has been benevolent in the manner they want to distribute their tokens. But, I think the easiest way to get these tokens is by delegating some SP.
At the moment, delegating SP even as little as 300SP can get you reasonable Knacktokens daily. But, as the number of delegators increases the less these daily rewards become.

There aren't so many SP delegators on Knacksteem now. There are only 23 delegators to be precise, and total delegation is 8,269.621SP. That is another reason why you should take action now.

I have delegated only 300SP to Knacksteem and here's how many Knacktokens I already have;

Aside from storing up Knacktokens, what really matters is how valuable they will be.
I'm not a prophet but, I can tell you that Knacktokens would be really valuable when SMTs are launched. This is because of its lavish use cases.
Although for now, Knacksteem has only released one major use case of the token, and that is its use on "Knackstore".
(The Knackstore is a virtual shop on Knackteem, where the products of talented contributors on Knacksteem are sold).

This means we should be expecting the Knackstore anytime from now. But, I doubt if that would be done anytime soon though.

Aside from SP delegators, contributors on the platform also have a chance to earn some Knacktokens.
If you are feeling adventurous, you can get these tokens both as a sponsor and a contributor.

Knacksteem Guidelines.

Knacksteem has finally released the guidelines for making contributions on the platform.
This should have been made available since the launch of the project.
Why it took so long to be made available, I don't know why, but, better late than never

I took my time to peruse through the guidelines, and, I was quite impressed by it.
The guidelines were carefully crafted to aid contributors to make great contributions.
It was rid of DOs and DON'Ts, which I really liked. This would make contributors feel comfortable when drafting their contributions.

The guidelines are available for all the categories on Knacksteem. You can check out the guidelines here, and start contributing on Knacksteem.

The distribution of Knacktokens and the availability of Knacksteem's guidelines are the major updates in that announcement post.

But, there were other feature updates, and they are;

Voting slider.

A voting slider is now available on Knacksteem. This slider is used to set your upvote or downvote percentage.

Knacksteem decided to make this slider available to every person on Knacksteem. This means that the slider is not available to only people with a certain amount of SP.
I like the fairness that Knacksteem brings into play here.

I like how Knacksteem implemented the slider on the platform. The slider doesn't only allow you to set the voting percentage, it also shows you the vote value at that percent.

Search feature.

The search bar has always been on Knacksteem. I have never really tried it until recently.
Well, I think the search panel had some minor issues. But, in this update, the search function has been improved. The search feature now allows a little-advanced search.

Sponsors page.

Knacksteem dedicates a page on the platform, especially for SP delegators.
The reason for that, according to the project owner, is to appreciate them for supporting the project.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

In this update, the FAQs document has been implemented on Knacksteem's front end.
The FAQs page will be helpful to newbies who just joined the platform and even existing users.

The FAQs document is great. It is quite descriptive and would help a lot of people in the community.

Aside from the announcement post, I will love to share this other information about Knacksteem.

Knacksteem is hiring!

Last month, Knacksteem made an announcement that it needed some individuals to fill up executive vacancies.

Knacksteem is gearing towards achieving greater feats. This is possible and can happen with the right team in place.
But, unfortunately, there's no official Knacksteem team. This doesn't mean the project owner has been working alone.

Knacksteem is open source, thus, this has made collaborative development possible.
Behind the scenes, Knackteem has a handful of developers, copywriters, graphics designers, etc. These people work tirelessly to ensure the platform is functional, stable and advancing.
Maybe these individuals will automatically become team members, but, I'm certain of that.
