Hello steemians, in this achievement we will be dealing with plagiarism but let me firstly appreciate my guardian @msquaretk for always guilding me on steemit. And special thanks to @xcool24 for finding me worthy to be recommended for my achievement 2.

Plagiarism can be defined as the act of stealing another's man work or idea. "Plagiarism simply y means copy and paste of another person's work without acknowledging the original owner/ author of such article or books".

There are various types of plagiarism which people involved themselves in and I'll be talking about 3 here in my post

(1) Mosaic plagiarism : In this type of plagiarism, the writer will change the owners sentence structure and use synonymous word to make it original. "With this type of plagiarism, the work of someone else is simply paraphrased without proper citation"
Source

(2) source based plagiarism : This type of plagiarism is the act when the source of citation is misleading. "For example, the writer may have two sources of information but only reference one. Another form of source-based plagiarism would be when an author quotes a non-existent or incorrect source"Source

(3) verbatim plagiarism : This type of plagiarism has to do with unethical or intentionally stealing of others people Content without referencing them. This type of plagiarism is like copying word for word.

Why people involved in plagiarism

People simply involve in plagiarism mainly because they are lazy, inconsistent and inability to use their time to learn.

Why is plagiarism wrong?

Plagiarism is wrong because it doesn't give credit to the original author of the text and its a form of academic dishonesty in academics. During project writing most especially at undergraduate days, student will just go online to type their topic on research gate or any other online journal, this portray how lazy some of the students are as they are not ready to work but too steal other peoples content

How is plagiarism detected?

Plagiarism can be detected if the format, style or tone of your content changes abruptly or seems inconsistent. Some academics institutions used some sort of plagiarism checkers tools to ensure submitted content is original. If your content is almost similar to the content found by the original, you maybe suspected of plagiarism. At times plagiarism can also be detected via improper reference citing.

How plagiarism checkers works?
Online plagiarism checkers work in a similar way to the ones most of the universities use. You upload your document and the checkers scan it, checking for any similarities to website, journals or other published sources withing their data base.

On this note, everyone must be ready to work hard and learn how to take his or her time to do the right thing. Plagiarism can kill the moral of some people, let's all join hand together to say no to PLAGIARISM.

I have read and understood the steemit etiquette on steemit Community and I will do my best to embrace them.
