[CR] The Big Fish Eats The Little One

Here I am again, as usual I disappeared again for a few days, I was working on a drawing that I did not like very much as it was staying, so start this beauty that you can appreciate today.

The previous drawing was about fish, so this one goes in the same way, I remember when I was a kid and I saw "Looking for Nemo". Do you remember that scene where he find a very ugly fish from the depths of the sea? I did, and I thought it was incredible, although as I said they are very ugly. But what if we added color to it? Could we have it as a pet at home?

Tools:

  • Medibang Paint
  • Mouse

-Step 1:

I took the mouse and made some crazy lines that looked a little like a fish.

I already have the shape of the fish, but it's a bit boring just in the middle of the fish tank, I'm going to draw food and a box with bubbles for you to enjoy! Oh, and a hungry cat in the background.

-Step 2:

Following the example of the great artists that I follow, this time I didn't go to color directly, no, no, no, no, this time I wanted to do everything in black and white, why? Because I wanted to experiment a little in order to improve my art.

-Step 3:

The purpose of the detailed monochromatic is to create a kind of 3d drawing, in my case I have not gone up to that level, but try to generate as much volume as possible, establishing the lights and shadows of each element.

-Step 4:

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to wait so long The Coloring! Ok, we have ready the black and white, now in a new layer configured in "overlay" we will trace the colors we want to add, What will happen next? What we will see is that the colors are attached to the fish without damaging what had been done before.

-Step 5:

Perfect, I could add colors, but they alone do not attract attention, so it is necessary to use other layers with other modes of fusion, among them three are remarkable, multiply for shadows and strong tones, soft light for brightness and a normal layer, to redraw or correct some things.

-Step 6:

Making use of these three layers color the whole illustration, I love the kitten, which I gave a more adorable touch to dilate his pupils and add some hairs protruding from his body. To finish, I added some touches to the texture of the fish, as well as some shines here and there, remember that the light bounces on some surfaces.

That was all guys, I hope you liked my art.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.

The big fish eats the little one, then the cat will eat the big fish ? It would be fun to have this fish as a pet at home. Beautiful artwork with nice details @hadley4

The cat will have a feast, that ugly fish is very fat.
Thank you for admiring my artwork :D

So I guess that the big fish eats the small one and then comes the cat to eat the big fish :) And who comes next to eat the cat!? Just kidding :D

Great painting! I can see pleasure in the big fish eyes and fear in the small fish. Poor little fellow! Colors are spot on and that part with light is great!

Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!

I don't think the cat has the easy task, some rodents have already confronted him in previous drawings hahaha

Big fish ! He almost doesnt have enough space to unfurl in that tiny bowl !

......and the cat lurking at the background.......... that big fish doesn't know he isn't the biggest 'fish' around XD

Love the composition and idea, @hadley4 :) You are able to tell a story just by arranging all the elements in the canvas in a lovely arrangement, their poses, expressions and body languages are nicely done :)

The colours are really nice, also! I love the lighting of the angler fish :) And as usual, your step by step presentation is wonderfully done :)

Always are and will be a pleasure your words, make me feel great and urge me to make crazy scenes in each new drawing, thank you for supporting my art dear @veryspider <3

What a stunning artwork, sir! The fish appears to be taunting the little cat!

Many thanks for sharing!

I don't know, I being that fish I wouldn't fall asleep, lest the kitten's claw take me out of the water and turn me into his dinner.

Thank you for passing by and admiring my artwork!
