My Favorite Steemit Communities - Five months on Steemit

Communities.jpg

I have joined Steemit five months and one day ago, on June 16th and since then I was able to make a lot of friends and engage in a few communities, and I was thinking about this post for a while, but now it’s the perfect time to make it.

I am going to share my favorite five communities with you, in the order, I have joined them because I cannot pick one favorite because all of them have something special, something different than the others.

Five months on Steemit, five communities. I am part of a few other communities that I have joined more recently, and I am still figuring them out, maybe I’ll post about them later.

Because what makes the communities such great places are the people inside I am going to share with you the main ones from all of them, brilliant people that you should follow.

Steem Poker League

splnologo3.jpg

I can still remember, I have discovered @SPL through one post from the one and only @tuckfheman, he just started @SPL with his friend @bigpchef and their primary goal was to play poker with their friends for money without anyone losing anything thus they powered up the games by Steemit Posts.

Let’s have fun and play poker, Tuck once told me, and we did that since then. Besides the free poker games, everyone loves @SPL has an amazing community filled with lovely people you can talk to at any time. We’re usually just cracking up jokes, talking about yayo&hookers and of course, playing poker.

Maybe most of you don’t know this, but besides the more than 5000 STEEM paid out in freerolls, @tuckfheman put money from his pocket for poker tourneys to even paying for the server we’re playing now on, and it wasn’t cheap at all.

You will be able to make a lot of friendships at the poker tables and meet people like @tuckfheman – who's supposed to have 80 yo and 100 grandkids, @bigpchef – The King of Weed, the lovely @bethalea who’s always online to ban your ass off and help you, @nicnas who you can always count on and our superstar, @steeminator3000.

If you’re on Steemit and you have a passion for poker I don’t know what are you waiting for, join SPL on Discord and play some free poker.

Be Awesome

It was my first week on Steemit when I met @whatamidoing on the general chat form Steemit.chat, and we started talking and because I was new and I had no idea what I was doing I needed some advice so I have asked him for an interview so I can learn a little bit. He says that there, in that conversation the “Be Awesome” concept born.

@Whatamidoing is one of the most amazing Steemians I have ever met, and I am fortunate that I met him in my first week, who knows how my Steemit Journey would’ve looked like without him.

Most of the Steem related chats are full with people that are using them just to succeed on Steemit, to gain something, Be Awesome is entirely different, born from the wish of building community and making friends is all about having friendly discussions with light-minded people, making friends and having fun.

Between all the lovely people from this community, you can find @whatamidoing - one of the best writers on Steemit, @macchiata – with her inspiring stories and views, @vangelov – with his fantastic spiritual experiences and @vincentnijman who's deep into filmmaking and arts.

Besides the occasional booze and parties talks we have, we’re usually talking about mind fuck topics, deep shit how we like to call it so make sure to join us inside.

Operation Curation Delegation – OCD

Even if this is not a community you can directly join on Discord, I still want to talk about it because what all of us are doing, in my opinion, will change Steemit.

I can still remember that I was a new user when I joined @OCD and all I wanted to do was to help other people because I know how hard it is to make something on Steemit even if your content is dynamite. Since then @OCD has helped about 800 unique authors and more than 1000 posts.

Being part of @OCD and having to always dive deep into a shitload of posts made me realize what some people are capable of doing for a few quick bucks, from spamming to plagiarism and even blackmail.

What I love besides all the helping we are doing is the people behind it, the curators, I don’t know if the other curation guilds have this but our team is tight, and I am glad to say that a lot of them are my friends, people that have changed my Steemit experience.

You have to follow @Acidyo – the best whale out there, @anomadsoul – the nomad who’s traveling the world, @mk40 – who’s not posting that much but he’s such a great human being, maybe find him on discord, and @Ma1neEvent – who photographs are amazing.

Why I am saying that @OCD may change Steemit is because besides all the curation we have done so far @Acidyo with the help of @pharesim is going to launch the nonprofit OCD-Bot that will constantly support all the authors we have nominated before and the delegatees will get all of the curation rewards.

Maybe you don’t know this, but @Acidyo just lost a whole lot of SP that was delegated to him, and to keep the payouts of the nominated authors as high as possible he bought, out of his money delegation for his account and has to give away half of the curation rewards, this is how awesome and committed to help other people he is.

If you want to help, feel free to follow @OCD, comment and upvote on all the nominated posts and compilations, everything is appreciated.

The Alliance

My friend @reko told me about this community a while ago, and I decided to check it out because I’ve heard a lot of great things about it and I was curious.

After I got on their discord, I was happily surprised by the amount of help and interaction that was going on, so I decided to become a full member.

What makes The Alliance amazing is not what they are doing but the members, I was excited when I saw so many known people already inside. Like: @enginewitty who has made the time to explain me everything and had the patience until I got it all right, @reko who’s now a full-time Steemian and promoter of Steem, @tattoodjay and @dswigle with their amazing photography posts and @buzzbeergeek – who’s such a great human posting about beer and curating most of the alliance posts. Also, follow @thealliance official account to stay tuned for what's going on or join the Discord Channel

As soon as I fix my goddamn laptop, I will try to be more active.

Shoutout to @steemusa, created by #thealliance members, make sure to check it out, they have some huge prizes.

Busy

Lastly but not least, @busy.org. I knew about busy for a long time, and I saw their call for help with the translations, and I decided to give them a hand. How awesome is that people can read your translations while using the site, I thought, so I was the second person to translate everything in Romanian.

Busy has a bot that upvotes everyone that’s using the #busy tag based on the SP following them so they can ensure that the spammers don’t abuse the bot. If you don’t know this already the bot’s SP is delegated by @fabien and @ekitcho, the founders, even if they could’ve upvote themselves all day long they decided to help and grow the community.

Even if I only talked with @fabien for about six or seven times, I can feel that he’s one hell of a dude and I can’t wait to get him a beer at SteemFest 3.

Also, what they are going to do with the Busy SMT’s is going to be just epic so make sure to stay tuned in for that one. You can join us in Discord to find out more.

Conclusion

I urge you to join all the communities I have mentioned because the people you will find inside may change your Steemit experience forever and also follow all of them.

Sorry if I haven’t mentioned all of you but I just wanted to keep it to a few key people but all of you are amazing, and I could’ve written another 1500 words post only about the people inside.

I often used to think that even if I would want to quit Steemit, I couldn’t because there are so many amazing people that I would not be able to leave behind.

If you feel that none of these communities fits you feel free to create your own because the best thing about Steemit is diversity, you have a wide variety from where you can choose who to follow, who to join.

You are a pillar of the community friend! Thanks for the shoutout, I love the way you describe us! Awesome conclusion as well!

Thank you, I love the Be Awesome community, it was my pleasure.

:D always love the be awesome random deepshit conversation!

Really great post and shows what I have found about most Steemians to be true, they love to share the wealth, they love to offer help and they put others needs first. It is hard to find hateful people anywhere on Steemit and you don't find the negative comments like you find on Facebook and other platforms. I know there are some jerks here on Steemit but I have never been treated badly and I haven't really found any. Now I have found a bunch of people trying to make a quick buck and the spammers, but the community seems to deal with swiftly. I didn't realize there were so many different communities within the community. I have joined @steemthat and invite you to come and check out what started as an upvote bot morphed into a growing and thriving community complete with its own currency called #SteemThatTokens with many ways to earn these tokens. Maybe you can come and visit and write a review? We Are All Anonymous, my anniversary is 4-20 and I admin Freedom 2020 on Facebook and support TheFreedomLine.com where FREEDOM is always Free!

Thanks a lot for your comment.
Indeed, a lot of them love to offer but also there are many looking only for ROI. You're still new, there are a lot of things that will surprise you.

I will give it a look tomorrow, thanks for the invite. ;)

Totally agree...! Too many for ROI :(> and the worst are the ones with Power! See u around @guyfawkes4-20 and hope to make a trip to transilvania to drive crazy that Vampires with our 420 smoke,,,that will surprise you too! hahaha :)

Haha, that would be epic. If you ever come here, you know how to find me. I'll get the vampires ready until then. :)))

This is such an awesome shout-out post! Thank you from me and everybody else you mentioned!

It is so hard with so many, this trying to break in here at Steemit. But, it is worth the effort and I love, love, love it here. Thanks for giving me a few places to check out and I hope that laptop gets fixed soon!!

Iti doresc o zi frumoasa! Upped and Resteemed

Thank you. It wasn't meant to be a shoutout post at first, but then I decided to mention a few people, and it turns out that I mentioned like dozens :D

Haha, that Romanian phrase is epic :)))

Thanks for such nice words! I do try to help when someone sticks something under my nose :) I tend to get lost in all the channels.I wonder what's up with @mk40 and how's the lovely wife. Haven't heard from him in a while now...

Your work is strongly appreciated. As far as I know he's busy with the work, I think he's getting back into trading too.

OCD for the win.

Totally, we got this ;)

Thanks for the great blog and the information. I'm going to try and look into thealliance and see what that's all about. 🙂

The Discord link that you provided takes me to something called Alpha Syndicate, is that the correct place? I see no other way to learn more about thealliance unless there is a link to an explanation page that was not provided or that I missed.

Thank you, you should do that.
Yup, that's the place. You have to go through that one to get to the alliance. You can't get directly into the alliance. Good luck.

very informative post, I knew about a couple but not the others so very interesting to read

Thank you, they are amazing communities ;)

The one I am also aware of are and I really need to check out the others, thanks again
