Hi, there. My name is Asian Geoge, a member of the Steemit family.

Let me officially welcome you to Steemit. Here, we combine the technologies of a social media and a block chain. It's a social media because here you can make friends, catch fun and express yourself, irrespective of your culture, skin colour, geographical location, language, religion or gender. It might interest you to know that here in Steemit, you have a decentralized privilege to show your talents and abilities to the world, right from the comfort of your house, office, school or anywhere convenient for you. Have fun.

Steemit is also a block chain. This is because it's the only platform that generate the cryptocurrencies called ' steem' and ' steem dollars ( SBD)'. Here, when your article is upvoted or down voted, you either gain or lose as the case may be.

How To Benefit From Steemit

  1. make friends
    2.make friends
    3.make friends
    4.make friends and
    5.makes friends
Everything hinges on this, be friendly and you will discover the way to success in Steemit.
Things You Shouldn't Do In Steemit
  2. Don't plagiarize.
By plagiarism I mean posting someone's content from any website without acknowledging the owner, whether it's articles, pictures, clips, documentaries or videos.
  3. Don't beg for votes, comments or resteem on your posts.
In Steemit this is considered a spam and the community fown at it.
  4. Don't post children pornography. It's considered a child abuse here. Keep your blog decent.
  5. Don't force people to follow you. It's against personal freedom.

More guides may come your way as the activities in the community increases. Feel free to ask questions. Everyone here is a potential help.
Welcome once again.

Am so glad to be here, aside from earning there are so many quality content and gigantic information posted on steemit thanks @dan and @nerd for creating this wonderful social media platform for us. Hoping to become a whale someday

Congratulations! You've been resteemed by my Cat-Bot because you posted in one of the followed categories (#steemit)!

You also get a small upvote from the bot (I'd make it bigger, but with so many great posts in the category I'd be out of voting power in no time) to thank you for your contribution.

If you're interested in this category, you should consider following this bot to see what other posts it finds!

Since this is still in Beta mode, I'm afraid the unsubscribe is manual... so I may be a bit slow, but just reply to this post with UNSUBSCRIBE and I will (sadly) leave you and your future posts alone. (I really don't want to spam people, I promise)

However... if you want to HELP make this service better, you can upvote this comment and add to the power these bots provide... or even be awesome and make a transfer donation or a SP delegation!

Or... you can do nothing, and we will happily keep on resteeming and upvoting you every time you hit one of our categories!

Whatever you decide, thanks for steeming and keep on being awesome! This community needs a solid stream of great content like yours!

At first I wasn't sure how to make friends here. So first I started following others. I looked for those who posted good stuff or who were nice to me when I commented. Then I started resteeming stories I liked. Then I started making my own stories. As I monitored new stories I noticed some people I knew of had accounts, so I started checking to make sure they didn't have steem accounts before posting their stuff in my story. I see now I should take one more step, name sourcing. I usually source anyway, that gives validity to my story, but the sourcing I did was giving the link. Please let me know if I should also state the name of the source or is a link good enough?

Just the link is okay. It saves as both acknowledgement and proof of the owner of the content. Also, always say something about anything you got from another site. Here we value originality and creativity. Steem on!

great post, solid rules for steem. Definitely don't beg others for handouts. Create quality content and the rest will follow.

Thanks for stopping by

Can i ask a question here?

Is it ok to post on our steemit posts any images we like for example from google chrome? I download the image i want into my device and then post it..yes..no?

It's okay to post the image, but you must post the link from that google chrome you got it from. Example is this post, the link to the image is pasted at the end of the article. You can paste the link anyway but just make sure it's in your post. Thanks.

There is no link(the image i posted in funny)..so should i just write under the image"google chrome"?

Sorry, if you check well there's a link. I had that difficulty once. Click and hold on the image title and the link will appear, then click on copy. That way you get it.

Helpful hints to newbies here @greatness96. Upvoted and followed you.
