A dish from the Philippines called "sinigang" and why its so yuumy!
Posting a recipe of one of the best foods Philippines has to offer, a famous dish in ou county called called "sinigang". :) its a sour base soup but very tasty, yummy and good for the health as well because it has lots of veggies!
Sinigang na Hipon at Bangus
Ingredients
- ½ kilo shrimp, cleaned and washed
- ½ kilo milk fish, cleaned and washed
- 1 pc medium ginger, crushed
- 2 pieces tomatoes, quartered
- 2 cups chinese cabbage (kang kong), cut into serving size
- 3-5 pcs lady fingers or gumbo (okra)
- 1 medium white radish, sliced
- 1 tbsp fish sauce![image.jpeg
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 5 cups water
- 2 small packs tamarind powder
- salt to taste
HOW TO COOK SINIGANG NA HIPON AT BANGUS:
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add the ginger, tomatoes, onion and radish.
- Simmer for 3 minutes or until the radish is soft or half cooked.
- Add the shrimps and milk fish then immer for 5 minutes.
- Add the tamarind powder and fish sauce.. (don’t place fish all at once)
- Add salt to taste
- Remove from heat, add the Chinese cabbage leaves.
- Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot. Enjoy!
