Since when I was young my momma used to warn us against eating too much sugar and sweets because it causes tooth decay. We even have a nursery rhyme that kicks against eating sugar, but does this make sugar bad in all ramifications? Let's find out.

Do You Know How Much Sugar You Consume Per Day?

No, I don't know how much sugar I consume per day, and this is because the end product of all that we used to take is sugar. It is just that some sugar is bad while some are not, for example, sugar gotten from fruits like oranges, tangerine, sugar gain pineapple, Milk, mango, plain yoghurt etc are not bad, this is because these fruits have numerous nutrients and vitamins including minerals that offset the negative impact of sugar, making our body to consume sugar slower, so I don't worry about these kinds of sugar.

As for added sugar like the white cubes which are highly processed I normally take them in moderation, like ice cream, cakes, chocolate 🍫 candies, bread etc. I limit my intake of this kind of sugar because it does more harm than the sweetness in it.

Do You Have A Family Member Who Has Problems With Diabetes?

Nope, I don't Have a family member who has problems with diabetes, but I do have family friends who battle with the sickness and it's pathetic, he didn't know that he had diabetes until he has a tiny bruise on his small toe, and the wound refused to heal instead was spreading everywhere making looks like he involved in a fatal accident. When he was admitted to the hospital they told him, and I learnt that the sickness is incurable, one can only manage it and it's expensive too.

Have You Had A Problem With Sugar?

No I don't have any problems with sugar before, I appreciate the way momma brought us up, I prefer whole grains and natural foods to snacks, cereals and processed foods, I usually take the latter occasionally and in moderation. I also tried to teach my children how to limit their sugar intake, I normally give them bananas, and natural fruit juices instead of sodas or highly processed one that is full of sugar.

What Do You Think About Sugar As The Worst Enemy?

Eating too much Sugar is bad, it causes deadly diseases, it makes one obese, and obesity comes with other health problems like kidney and heart disease. It causes high blood pressure and inflammation, it causes acne and type 2 diabetes, and cancer. Sugar may send someone into depression, and make someone to age fast, it leads to fatty liver etc. Yes, sugar has a great taste but we should limit our intake to avoid all these health issues. Yes, our life is more precious than temporary enjoyment.

Is good you teach your children on how to take natural food than artificial, taking natural fruit is very healthy.

Too much sugar intake is bad but is not good to stay away from it completely. Alot of sickness is as a result of sugar intake

Ciertamente el azúcar procesada es muy dañina. Es preferible el consumo de frutas naturales que nos aportan grandes cantidades de vitaminas.

Lamento lo de su amigo, algunas personas ignoran que son diabéticos y lo descubren en casos como el que menciona.

Las personas que tienen diabetes deben cuidarse mucho de golpes y cortaduras que pongan en riesgo sus extremidades.

Siempre debemos ser prevenidos en el consumo de azúcar y evitar la obesidad, diabetes y otras patologías. Le deseo éxito en el desafío 👍
