The mother of all festivals it was called. Woodstock 1969. There was a new sensation hanging in the air and many came to the quickly organized festival in a meadow near Bethel. So many came that there was shortage in water and all other things you can imagine except for drugs.

But why this post ?

Well it is 50 years ago and a Woodstock 50 will be organized now in April this year. I read that Jay-Z, the Killers (Indie) and Miley Cyrus are performing wiht some old more legendary names like Robert Plant and John Fogerty.

The theme then was 3 days of Peace and Music and I really do not understand what Jay- Z (born in 1969) and Miley Cyrus are doing on a Woodstock festival. Can we see him as a multimiljonair hippie maybe. And Hanna Montana Miley … ok if we really have to. Or are there no real appriate bands anymore nowadays?

"Dead and Company, John Fogerty, Santana, John Sebastian, Country Joe Mcdonald, Canned Heat and Hot Tuna – all acts that took part in the 1969 festival – are all on the lineup for the festival, which takes place August 16th through 18th, the 50th anniversary of the original Woodstock. This is in Watkins Glen. NY

Lang says. “It’ll be hip-hop and rock and some pop and some of the legacy bands from the original festival.”

I myself investigated a bit further some fun facts:

• The other 4 founders of Woodstock said they have nothing to do with the plans of Michael Lang (organizer 1st woodstock) and they seem to organize another smaller thing in Bethel Woods the old location.

• The new Woodstock organization is located in 56th street in New York. The new organization already did some courtcases about the name (one against woodstock cannabis). Wtf is wrong with Canabis. I associate Woodstock more with cannabis than with Jay-Z.!!!
