Something's been bugging me
I've been taking pictures of insects all summer, hoping to get enough decent ones to do a whole post of them. Every time I thought I was ready, I would find another one. I am just going to pull the trigger and post them.
I took a lot of pictures of ladybugs. They are very easy to shoot, for insects, since they don't seem to notice or care that there is a human looming over them and staring.
I think that's a dung beetle. It was rooting around in goat poop, so I just assumed that's what it was. It seemed pretty happy there.
Flies are everywhere, of course, and not particularly exotic, but this one was comfortably resting on my leg, and it was a lovely shade of green, so I got a few pictures of it.
I don't know a whole lot about insects, but I am guessing that the small ladybugs with no spots are young ones, especially since I took pictures of the spot-less ones early in the season. It's just a theory, so feel free to correct me if you are more bug-smart than I am.
I'm not sure what this one is, but I've seen a bunch of them this year.
This bee picture isn't super fabulous, but I like it because of the red pollen on her legs. If only I could remember what flower she had been visiting...
I found that little guy down at the creek. Again, I am not sure what kind of butterfly it is, but it was a bit of a ham and posed for me.
I was shooting close-ups of Queen Anne's Lace when I came across this one.
This little dragonfly was sitting on a twig, and when I crept up to get a picture, it flew away and then came back and sat on the same twig and just watched me. Since I am still using my phone to take pictures, I have to get pretty close to my subjects, and they don't often cooperate. It's nice when one of them does.
This lovely lady was on an echinacea flower. All the flowers were covered with bees, and they were so intent on extracting the pollen that they just sat there and let me shove my phone in their faces.
Those are my bugs! I will try to get some more before the weather goes bad and everybody hides for the winter, including me!
Ah, the rare no-spotted-northern-American Lady bug. Nice find! Very rare to see one of those. 🐞🤣

Ha ha. I think they might get spots when they're older. I'm not sure, though. I'm no expert!
Human's get spots too as they get older. :)

Bugsy!
I love them. :)
Thank you!
you're welcome!
The pictures are very clear! Beautiful bugs and flies. Awesome! Bugs and flies.. I am comfortable with. But creepy crawlies, that is another thing altogether. ☺️
Thank you! I don't mind bugs at all, unless they're poisonous. Luckily, we don't have too many of those over here.
Very nice photos of insects! The lady bug is very red! I like the bees and butterflies best! They seem so cute!
Thank you! The red on the lady bugs is so bright it looks fake sometimes!
I was wondering why I didn’t see your new posts! You must have been very busy making jam!
Thank you! The red on

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
I think your butterfly is a Red Admiral. I've never seen a ladybird without any spots. Very cool!
I will look that up! I'm not very good at identifying insects.
Bugs never shows when I'm taking pics. I only catch them like oops! Well, is more like they photobomb my pics ahahah
Sometimes the photobombs are the most fun! I had to take a lot of blurry ones to get a few this clear.
One beautiful collection you have here :)
Thank you! You were my inspiration!
