Night Time Food Cravings - Entry By (glorystar21)
Hi everyone,
How have you been? I hope you are fine and doing excellently well, as for me I'm okay by God's grace.
Today will be writing on night time food cravings.
I will begin by answering the question
We all have that one dish we crave when the world is quiet and the night has fully taken over. For some, it's something sweet like chocolate or cake. For others, maybe it's something as simple as a cold soda or a pack of crackers. But for me, when the clock strikes 11 PM and my stomach growls louder than my thoughts, there’s only one thing on my mind which is Spaghetti.
I almost always go for savory. Sweet cravings are rare for me at night, unless it’s chilled yoghurt. But pasta, especially spaghetti, gives me that warm, fulfilling feeling I look for before bed. If I’m stressed or extra tired, the craving is even stronger.
Sometimes I usually give in if I didn't eat well during day time. My immediate thought is Well, if I can make it quietly and quickly, why not?. Of course, I sometimes try to resist for health reasons, but let’s be honest, resistance is weak when your stomach is plotting against you.
Homemade wins for me every time. I prefer putting something together myself rather than grabbing an instant snack. Even though it’s late, I try to keep it simple but real, it feels more satisfying and less guilty.
My Midnight Recipe
15–20 minutes max!
Let me walk you through how I usually make my late-night spaghetti:
Step1
Boil Water
I start by heating water with a pinch of salt . Once it bubbles, I throw in a handful of dry spaghetti, enough for one (sometimes two) servings.
Step 2
Prepare the Sauce
While the pasta is boiling, I chopped onions, garlic, and a bit of pepper in oil. Then I add tomato paste or blended fresh tomatoes. Sometimes I will put in ground pepper, seasoning cubes, and dried thyme or curry, whatever that's available.
Step3
Mix and Serve
Once the pasta is soft and ready, I drain it and mix it right into the sauce. I like it thick and flavorful. I add a fried one to complete the plate.
Well, not exactly healthy, especially if eaten just before sleep. But once in a while? It’s okay. I get these cravings about 2–3 times a week, especially on busy or emotionally draining days. I try to balance it with lighter meals during the day.
Midnight cravings might not be the healthiest, but they’re definitely the most honest , they tell you what your body really wants when nobody's watching. And for me, that’s always a plate of steaming spaghetti.
Conclusion:
Nighttime cravings are common especially in this relatable part of life. Whether it is stress, habit, or the simple joy of a tasty bite, we all get the urge now and then. A little comfort food is okay, especially when it feeds both hunger and happiness.

Thank you to @vishwara for this fun and delicious contest. Sharing our cravings may seem silly to some, but to me, it’s a reminder that life is made up of small, tasty joys. And mine happens to be spaghetti, especially when the world sleeps.
