In the first part click here to reveal it of my new series Hellenic Mythology I wrote about the Genesis of the world and we had reached the part, when a goat (Amaltheia) was raising Zeus and Kourites soldiers were making loud noises to cover his cries in order his father Kronos won't be able to find him and swallow him like his brothers .

At this point the myth says that these soldiers were something forest's Elves and their war dance was called Pyrihios like the the warriors of Pontos area are dancing until nowadays !

But let's go back to Zeus.

When he was big and powerful enough , the Nymphs decided to tell him the truth about his father.
So he learned about his cruel Father Kronos and what his mother Rea and the Nymphs had to do in order to save and raise him.
After taking the Nymphs ' advice he decided to provoke his father and claim the throne(Game of thrones so far... ). So he appeared in front of Kronos and asked for his throne !

Of course Kronos denied and a scary fight begun between the Titan and the God ! After a long period of fighting Zeus managed to overpower on Kronos and he gave him a herb in order to throw up all his swallowed children !
Hera, Estia, Dimitra, Poseidon and Plouton.

This started a war between the Olympian Gods and the Titans that lasted 10 years and took the name :

TITANOMACHY !

Gaia advised Zeus to free Cyclopes and Ekatogheires from Tartara in order to help him in this war and so it was done . Cyclopes supplied Zeus with thunder, lightning and thunderbolt , his tremendous weapons in order to please him for freeing them. Some of the Titans took also the side of Gods : Oceanis, Styga, her children Kratos ,Via, Zilos, and Nike.
The Titans took places in the mountain O-thri and the Gods on the mountain Olympus which is the highest mountain in Hellas.
Finally the Gods won on this war and threw the Titans to Tartara.

But for the Gods , war wasn't over as they had to fight against the Giants now as Gaia was mad about her grandson's victory(what a paradox) and helped the Giants against the Gods.
Nyhta(Night) and Ekate were throwing the Giants down and the well known to all Hercules (to another post I will write about his adventures too) was killing them with his poisonous arrows from the blood of Lernaia Hydra. Giant Porfyrion counter attacked and tried to kidnap Hera but Zeus threw on him a thunderbolt . Efialtis (nightnmare) the Giant was killed by God Apollon and Hercules. God Dionysos killed Evrytos and Ekati killed Klytios. Hefestus killed Mimos. Giant Egelados(earthquake), retreated but Goddess Athina chaise him and buried him under the island of Sicily. Then she killed Pallas and made her shield from his skin. Poseidon threw the island Nisyros on Polyvotis and Hermes killed Hippolytus. Artemis killed Grationas and the 3 fates killed Agrios and Thoas.
Gaia was so mad from the losses that she gave birth to ** Typhonas(typhoon)
